The tea wasn't poisoned.
The Hyuuga Jounin had half expected it to be, after waking up in this strange village with no memory of how he'd arrived here or what he would be expected to do. He'd investigated the place thoroughly with his Byakugan, working on memorizing Chakra signatures so whenever his kidnapper -- or an ally -- did appear, he would not the arrival immediately.
But for now, he sat in a teahouse with an untouched plate of red-bean mochi, a cup of tea held gently in one hand, the other supporting the bottom as he takes another sip, watching everything.
