Practicing with the new weather... issue was an interesting thing to try to do. Especially given the water formations seemed especially prevalent on the outdoor training fields.

She didn't, however, hesitate to work with her elements, since if nothing else, she'd long since learned how to deal with Naruto, and it would be fun to finally be able to spring an appropriate reaction on him when he did a dousing jutsu to try to shortcut in their spars.

Unfortunately, it also meant that when she decided to take a break she was sopping wet, her clothes were half falling off, and she'd had to chase her sword across the field when one of the spouts had landed on her.

"You were doing fine before you brought in the dirty humor."

"Hmm, you gave me an opening. I take it when it's there." he gave a shrug. "Those who don't like it are free to roll their eyes or scoff. I should change how I am to suit everyone?" Go, Sasuke! Chidish, irrational stubbornness. This isn't what makes you famous, and normally Menma is there to whack your head, or Sakura keeps you on a leash wither nicknames.

"No, but don't look so shocked when someone hits you for it either. I'm not going to apologize."

Sasuke did have his own faults, and kept unchecked, without anyone else to cover for his stupidity, it could be blinding."When did I look shocked?" more like, when did she hit him?
Really, what is there to expect of someone that uses his sharingan to get out of promises...?

She just stared at him for a long moment and leaned in, almost touching noses with him. "Find someone already and calm down with them, mm?"

"Y-yeah, easy for you to say... even without those jokes, either people're taken or just don't give me the time of the day, or just...." he turned away, suddenly uncomfortable. "...I'm not what anyone expects of any Sasuke at all, and I'm not goin to change cause I can't and I don't want to anyway."

The look she gave him was irritated, and she reached out to swat him again. "You don't have to change. How much of that is on you though? You're just as bad for expecting people to be like you remember."

"Huh? When did I say I wanted anyone to be like that?" he cocked his head, rubbing at that spot she had swatted. Vicious one, she was. "I don't think anyone being different from what I expect is bad, cause anyway I got the idea pretty fast that I'm the only one from my world." he gave a shrug. "... unless you meant me thinkin everyone'll accept my bad humor, but it isn't anything I take out that often" a pause. "Or at least...I don't think I do it that often."

"First, I said expect not wanted. Secondly, you may not think that it's bad, but you still think it's wrong, don't you?"

He gave a sigh and lowered his eyes. She was right in everything. A deeper thinker than he was and might ever be. "Sorry." he murmured. "There's a lot I did wrong, then." there was a pause, and he went on. "Still, I need a place I can just be loose in. I like working, but when I,m out of it, I don't feel like restraining myself. maybe if I try and... lose that humor..."

She took a deep breath, then moved to peer into his face from up close. "Stop. Trying. So. Hard."

"Trying doesn't even mean I'll succeed, so why shouldn't I try the hardest I can?" little did he know, things would come even without trying. "And I'm not even sure I can stop." because he was doing all that without being conscious of it.

"If you weren't trying so hard, you might not be scaring off your prospects." Her tone turned dry. "Either pick someone and focus it or tone it down."

He gave a light sigh. "....yeah... you're right." he murmured.

Trying too hard. Was this why things just hadn't worked? He ran a hand through his hair and shook his head. "Gonna think on things..." he did sound tired all of a sudden. "Then again, all the thinkin got done for me."

"Clearly between the two of us I've gotten used to thinking for those around me." Her tone was dry, tinged with humor. "Really though, just... relax already, that might help."

"Relax... yeah." he claimed a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Maybe I should just walk around." after all, he liked walking aimlessly. even in this weather. "Thanks for tryin to make me less of an idiot."

"You were doing fine for the first part." Her voice was soft, and she shook her head. "You were doing fine right up until Hinata actually."

"...so far, every time I bring up those from my world, things just degenerate." he gave a light sigh. "At least I was doing okay for a while."

"Considering that Hinata has been after Naruto since we were put on a team together at twelve, it's a bit of a sore point. Even if she seems to have given it up, about here there are Hinatas that... haven't."

"My world's Hinata is like that with Menma.... if I, uh, if things were... well if I felt somethin for Menma like you did, yeah, she'd annoy me too." he gave a shudder. "She's so darn loud about too, and insistent. Not my type at all." Poor Menma indeed.

"Ugh. Sorry, kinda brought her up when I told myself I wouldn't. You can smack me again, think I'll collect bruises from you today."
At least he had gained some understanding of why she disliked Hinata. He also did, so on that point they agreed very much.

"It's different when you're not making a joke about him fondling her underthings." Her tone was completely deadpan.

"..ah y-yea.. Good point." he coughed lightly.

"I thought as much." She arched an eyebrow at him. "I like her fine as a person, but not in conjunction with Naruto."

"I don't like her.. at all." he shook his head. "She's... too forceful." he grunted before raking fingers through his hair. "Either way, now I,m the one gettin worked up about her. Ugh." he was not so fond of how she acted around Menma, but his teammate never seemed to mind so much.

"She's much more unassuming than that where I'm from, and even moreso here." She shook her head. "But her feelings clearly never change."
