Itachi sighed. Were they to be discovered outright, it might be considered treason. He wasn't entirely sure what a warring clan might do to one of their own who broke code. But he did know what a village would do to a defector. It wasn't pretty.

"At least... if they are tired of the senseless death... on their own side, they may be more willing to sign a treaty." he suggested. "Even if you become leaders... if your clans are unwilling to follow you, what good is a treaty?"
