[Open] Finally, good news.

When she'd gotten home the other night it had been to the horrible news that her eldest Itachi had had a complete meltdown and she hadn't been there to help. Unfortunately, she simply didn't have the ability to be home all at once, but it did put it in her mind that her and Kushina needed to have a talk if the woman intended to go around breaking her babies.

She was hardly the only one she needed to speak to though, and she heaved an agitated sigh, trying to sort out what to do.

The sigh of his wife attracted him, and although he wasn't necessarily pleased with Kushina ever he was more than aware of how abrasive his family could be. That didn't make it all right, however.

But, at the moment, there was at least one member of his family he could be there for.

It didn't take him a minute to have a hot cup of tea in front of Mikoto before Fugaku took a seat beside her, pausing before he finally spoke, "You don't have to take on everything yourself."

She made a soft noise of frustration and put her face in her hands. "It's my friend causing problems Fugaku."

"Kushina-San?" Without hesitation he rested a gentle hand on her back, rubbing gently while he watched over her.

"The oldest Itachi had a meltdown while I was away. have you looked in on him?"

[prideforfamily]

"He was asleep when I last did, but I'm not certain if I am the best person to talk to him."

[proudofmybaby]

"I haven't gotten the details yet but Kushina sparked it and it's... I don't know what to do." She moved her hands, picking up the tea to sip.

"We'll figure it out, but you know forcing it won't do any good. Especially not with Kushina-San's spirit and our daughter's stubbornness. She takes after her mother."

She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Why are all the people we know so high strung?"

[prideforfamily]

"Do you regret knowing them?" He raised an eyebrow when he asked that, leaning in to kiss the top of her head gently after before leaning in behind her to wrap his arms around her and holding her close from there.

[proudofmybaby]

She heaved a deep sigh. "No."

[prideforfamily]

"That's what I thought," He nodded, smiling and leaning in to kiss her cheek, his hand moving to hold hers. Somehow, he just felt like being much more affectionate to Mikoto as of late, and their conversation upon meeting again helped...

"Take some time and talk to her when you feel you can. There's no rush, Mikoto."

She snorted some and reached up, catching him by the nape of the neck and reeling him in for a proper kiss over her shoulder. "I know that."

He kissed her properly, a little surprised by the move but certainly not protesting against it. He held it for a good long moment before finally moving to sit beside her, "I'm somewhat less than impressed with Kushina-San myself, but I want to reserve judgement until I've heard everything. It's not too far of a stretch to think that she was provoked, even if that level of action was unwarranted."

A beat, and he added, "I can see about talking to Itachi as well. That he feels so poorly about himself... It shouldn't have to be like that for him."

"I don't know the details myself so... I'm at a loss." She leaned into him, studying him.

"... Then we'll have to gather those."

[proudofmybaby]

She nodded and sighed, shaking her head. "I'm only one person, you're right about that."

[prideforfamily]

"I'll help however I can should you want it."

[proudofmybaby]

"That's never in question love."

[prideforfamily]

He fell silent at that, seeming a little uncomfortable.

"... That does not mean I shouldn't reaffirm that."

[proudofmybaby]

She looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you for the tea."

[prideforfamily]

He nodded, finally smiling warmly for her and squeezing her hand.

[proudofmybaby]

She just smiled back, seeming far calmer than before.
