[Open] Finally, good news.

When she'd gotten home the other night it had been to the horrible news that her eldest Itachi had had a complete meltdown and she hadn't been there to help. Unfortunately, she simply didn't have the ability to be home all at once, but it did put it in her mind that her and Kushina needed to have a talk if the woman intended to go around breaking her babies.

She was hardly the only one she needed to speak to though, and she heaved an agitated sigh, trying to sort out what to do.

For a few more instants she seemed incredibly uncomfortable, her face going a little red, "... He... Found someone new..."

She paused a moment, then a slow, amused smile crossed her face. "Did he now?"

"... Mom... I..."

She felt incredibly awkward then, her arm clawing a little into her wrist before she took a breath. She'd have to say it sooner or later, and she had to... "Mom, I think I like... Him... A lot..."

And that was frustrating. What was it about her mother that made her lose her nerve like that!?

She moved over and enveloped her in a hug. "You're not coming to me in tears so I'll take it that's a good thing."

She just blinked hard a few times at that, feeling more than a little confused when she asked, "Why would I?"

"Because if he'd up and broken your heart I doubt you'd be so cutely nervous."

[guiltoftruth]

She just sighed at that, her head bowing a little as she shook her head, "... I wouldn't cry if he did, mom."

"But you'd be unhappy."

[guiltoftruth]

That time she didn't answer, only humming as she sighed and relaxed in her mother's arms.

She stroked her hair. "So, are you officially a thing then?"

[guiltoftruth]

"He wants to try and talk to you and dad about us."

[proudofmybaby]

"Ahh, so he's proposing?"

[guiltoftruth]

She choked on air briefly before shaking her head, "He never said anything about that!!"

Wait did that mean that Neji wanted to... Oh. Uhm. Sasuke was really unsure of how she felt about that.

"Don't worry about it sweetheart, if you like him, you can keep him, no objection here. If you want another one I'll support that too. Or more than one." She paused a beat. "If you'd like that."

"Mom?" She almost squeaked at that, rigid and shaking her head, "What are you talking about!?"

"You and boyfriends of course!"

[guiltoftruth]

"I'm not..." Sasuke was at a complete loss, red-faced and unsure of what to say.

"Wait, did you find a girl Neji then?"

[guiltoftruth]

Again Sasuke couldn't find her words, so she shook her head in 'no' to answer Mikoto instead.

"I hadn't thought so. What's wrong?"

[guiltoftruth]

"Why would you think that... More than one person?" She still didn't quite know how to make sense of it, and it was quite obvious then and there by just how she phrased that question.

[proudofmybaby]

"Ah! You can blame your brother for that. His little arrangement between he, the oldest Sasuke, and Tenten." She gave her a wry smile. "And it's not like I missed our resident favorite medic flirting with you."

There was a pause for a few seconds before she just pulled back to stare at Mikoto, "Sakumo?"

She blinked back at her, clearly amused. "I take it the poor thing was too subtle for you? If it helps, he probably doesn't even realize it himself."

[guiltoftruth]

"... You'd think he'd be obvious," It was a mutter as she glanced away, frowning a little before she sighed again.

"I'm not looking at anyone else."
