Week 21 Event
Letters
The attacks were finally under control, but it seemed that there were now other troubles at hand, though these were a far more insidious kind. The problems were coming in the form of neatly written missives, each one carefully penned, and falling neatly through the air to land before this shinobi or that, seemingly without any pattern.
The messages were short and to the point though, and seemed to hit a range of notes, but none of them bode well.
'I miss you.'
'They died.'
'She would have loved you.'
'It's your fault.'
'Why didn't you come home?'
'I hate you.'
'You deserved to die.'
'She asked for you.'
'He was your family.'
'No one told you?'
'You were right.'
'He was your sacrifice.'
There were more as well, none more than a sentence long, and never with a name penned anywhere on the snowy paper. All the words were the browning crimson of dried blood, and had a scent to match.
Meanwhile, from the east, it seemed that the war front had quieted, and the sky was taking mercy with clear, beautiful blue skies.
