[Open] Home at last.

She'd been away from home a lot lately and she was more than aware of that. While the kids and other adults were doing their best, they still had quite the pack of children to support, and there had been no fall back funds or reliable missions to take care of the gaps. It was improving now, but she'd had a rash of missions to take care of over the last month, and it had meant that she'd been away far more than she'd been home.

She just hoped everyone was happy to see her, given that the weather seemed to think she needed to be blown away the second she stepped foot back in the village.

In any case, she'd fought her way back to the house, changed into clean clothes, then went out for a walk since most of the house's residents weren't home. When she got back, she'd check on the ones who were, but in the meantime, she saw no issues in fetching some fresh things for dinner before settling back in.

"Thanks mom." for some reason, he just couldn't stop smiling. "...somehow I can't see anything wrong wrong about girl-mes ruling" he gave a chuckle and poked around the meat in the pan so it would cook evenly. "Some queens are better than kings, after all. Something about feminine charm... though maybe I shouldn't say that too close to em."

"Mmm that really depends on what you mean by feminine charm baby."

"Uh.. I mean the extended-time stuff? You know how you get wiser and all that as you grow older? Some get prettier too~" yup, like the one in front of him!

She laughed and turned to make sure that everything was ready to cook that wasn't already in progress. "Nice save."

"Uh-huh~" he grinned. "I am flawless~"

"Ah ah Sasuke. Say that too often and people will start to find flaws."

"Oh, but isn't it interesting when they do?" for a second the light in his eyes changed. "Because then, this means they're starting to look deeper~"

That got a beat of pause and a long sideways look... and then the woman laughed. "I see. You're adorable, and definitely my son."

Those words... the ones he kept longing to hear from his father. Definitely his son.

Hearing them from his mother, right now... it was something more relieving than he had imagined. "Wouldn't have it any other way, mom." he briefly let the meat sit, just long enough to go and peck her cheek.

She blinked at the reaction, then just gave him a warm, sweet smile. "You're a good boy Sasuke."

The smile he wore as he returned to care for the cooking food said more than any words could.

Happy enough to let the silence stand, she turned her attention to the food. It was a good talk, and she could safely say that she would be happy for this to happen again.
