Out of one hell and into another. At least this one was a bit more reminiscent of something she was accustomed to. That wasn't always a good thing, she thinks, as she roams the streets and does some reconnaissance. Looks can be deceiving though and that was a lesson Kushina all but embodied. There were plenty of boys -beaten half to death- that could attest to that certain saying.

The woman with bright, long red hair doesn't look in the least bit frightened as she studies everything around her. Confused, sure, but who wouldn't be? She's been thrown one world to another more than she'd like. Hell, she thought one world was enough! How was it that so many existed? That confused her more than this new place, village, she was in.

She was used to being in unfamiliar places. After moving to Konoha, she had a feeling it was probably something of the norm for her. After finally settling into the Leaf Village, she had been taken from it just as quickly. Then finally meeting her son and being swept away; Exsilium to be with her son and even spend a bit more time getting to know Kakashi before she was gone again.

Now this place.

So lost in thought is she, drawing in her surroundings and thinking (not to mention she's clumsy to begin with) it's no surprise that's she's headed straight for a body and running into their back. Kushina stumbles back, blinking in surprise and finally rubbing the back of her head, embarrassed blush in place.

"Excuse me, sorry about that. I didn't see you there."

((AS A NOTE: I'm going to be giving Kushina some past game canon but I didn't know what to list the tag with so skjgs but she's mostly canon! Feel free to be the person she runs into or just a spectator wanting to interrupt! Sky's the limit. :>}}

"I could prank you in my sleep," finally she turns her head, showing the tears running down her flushed cheeks but the smile on her face regardless. With her arms around Minato, he's not the only one that notices that they've managed to land in a decently sized mud puddle.

Just her luck.

She sits up, risking looking at him and letting out a sigh of relief when he's still there fluffy blond hair and all, and helps him to his feet with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I promise I didn't mean to push you in a mud puddle."

The whole tomboy, tough girl act that picked on the flaky girlyboys was mostly behind her. Mostly.

She probably could. Kushina was a natural when it came to pranking. He's had to deal with plenty of her master plans over the years, and he always takes them with as much good-nature as he can muster. After all, she wins every argument they have, so he might as well not start any if he can help it.

He reaches up to brush the tears off her cheeks with his thumbs and then nods. A second later through a quick blur, they're standing on a nearby rooftop with Minato still brushing some tears away. "It's just mud. Mud washes off." And with a smile, he leans forward to press a kiss to each cheek and rid her of the last tears.

Then he's pulling away and turning around, trying to look over his shoulder as he does a few circles. "How bad is it? Ah, I can't even remember the last time I washed this coat..."

The best part is getting a reaction out of Minato other than his usual smiles. Kushina is probably one of the only people in the world, the universe, that can fluster Minato Namikaze and she takes pride in that fact. Also the only one that wins every argument they have.

Her eyes close, enjoying the touch as much as she can. She doesn't even realize they're 'jumping' until there's a breeze that ruffles her hair a little and kisses to her blushing cheeks, now red because of his affection and not just tears.

She laughs a bit as his modeling and stands, trying to brush off the dried bits of mud. "Well, that's why you have me, right? To do your laundry."

He's still got his back to her when she says that, but he smiles a little more over his shoulder at her. "Right. That's why I married you, after all," he chuckles, flashing a grin that might make it seem like Naruto gets his mischievous ones from his father and not his mother.

Turning, he removes the jacket in a single motion, showing off that Yellow Flash nickname of his even when it comes to the most mundane actions. "It will probably draw too much attention anyways." It doesn't take long for him to seal the coat in a scroll before replacing it in the holster on his side.

At least they can still joke and she smiles at him, mischievous grin changing into something more warm and soft as they calm down from their bit of fun and tease. Things hadn't changed at all between them even though they had been apart for so long.

She's glad.

Her expression sobers at his sealing and she tugs on some of her red hair. Well, if his coat didn't draw attention her hair sure would have. It shines brightly in the sunlight and she sighs, drawing herself to her full height and looking out over the roofs. Time to play ninja.

"I'll wash it later, for now we find out where we are, right?"

"Mmh." There's a nod of agreement. For the most part, he'd done as much reconnaissance as was needed. He didn't get to where he was -- a legend -- by not taking situations seriously and doing what needed to be done. Information was the most dangerous tool a shinobi had, and whichever shinobi had the most information was the most powerful shinobi.

"The Village of Paths in the land of Time," he explains as he moves to stand beside Kushina and gesture out towards the buildings and villagers. "I've been gathering intel. Ah, there might be some powerful space-time jutsu to blame, which would explain why you and I are both here."

It definitely wasn't a place that existed in their world. "It's not the first time for me," she starts, also looking out over the buildings and the world beyond. "Before this, I was stuck fighting in a war against these unbeatable enemies. This place is nothing like that though, it's more like a regular village than that city. And..." She pauses, smiling and looking down at her feet. "You're here now."

After a moment of looking at him fondly she sobers again. "I don't know what does it but I was with Naruto and Kakashi that entire time too. At first I thought it was some illusion but it was real. Someone out there must be extremely powerful if they can bring people back from the dead and put us in different worlds."

It's too much for her and whenever she thought about it, a headache usually followed. In some ways though, it was a blessing in disguise especially now. With Naruto and Minato both with her, she doesn't know how she can be happier. It's all she wanted for them to be together.

"But you know, I'm happy. Even if this person is stronger than either me or you, I get a little more time to be with the people I love and protect them."

Minato smiles softlly at Kushina as she relates her information and then makes her personal comment. He feels the same way. No matter what sort of enemy they were up against, he was with Kushina. More than that, she mentions their son and Kakashi, which takes the usually prepared shinobi back a step.

"Naruto... and Kakashi?"
