Pretty Lights?

Sasuke really, really wanted to see the lights. He heard about how autumn was coming and how pretty it would be. After dinner, which he had eaten very slowly, he sat outside on the porch to wait for these lights to come out.

Somewhat uncharacteristically for him, but a trait that may be believed shared for the Uchiha since it happened so often... he fell asleep. He had taken a blanket, perhaps feeling too warm, too comfortable, and not all that good. He still did want to see those lights... He was definitely feeling all too nice and warm right here.

"I remember the important ones." he gave a nod. "...the house's been quiet... maybe mom misses everyone, so I wanna cheer her up." a pause. "I mean, I know I don't need flowers for that, but I still want to get her them, cause they're pretty."

She gave the boy a sweet smile and nodded, hugging him tightly. "Can do. I miss a lot of people too."

"Yeah... they've gone back, but... this is our village right now. We're still here, so.. we should make the most of it." his voice was somewhat weak thanks to the sickness, but as always, his mind was in the right place.

There was a light blush, and the brightest of smiles lit up his features for an instant, even though his voice sounded a mite weak. "I will. I'll make a lot happen in here!" he sounded so confident, too.

The boy gave a hearty laugh, as hearty as as current condition could allow, before giving her the happiest of smiles. Being trusted meant a lot, and he was confident he could do it. This village, after all, was the one he and his friends at the Academy would protect.

Content, she just headed off with the boy, apparently content to find somewhere to cuddle him.
