[Open] Er, this is mainly just a voicetest. Hi ^^

Uzuki Yuugao woke up. Without opening her eyes, she could tell that she’d been sleeping on hard earthen ground- somewhere unsheltered, judging by the harsh sunlight. She must’ve been more tired than she’d thought, to fall asleep in a cemetery. But when her eyes grew accustomed to the light, she didn’t see Hayate’s gravestone, or any of the familiar surroundings of Konoha. There was definitely no one around the.. park? that she was in. It was impossible to move her without noticing, and this wasn’t a genjutsu, so what had happened? A knot of worry formed just above her stomach.

Standing fluidly, she reached back to make sure her katana was still in place, and adjusted her kunai pouch. It took a second for her to decide to wear her ANBU mask- it’s a part of her uniform, and she might need it, whether she was in enemy territory or not.

It was still fairly early, but Yuugao was sure she could hear the sounds of a market to the right of a bunch of buildings. Taking a few deep breaths, she headed in that direction, where there had to be someone who could tell her what was going on. Her body was tense and ready to evade any surprise ambushes, her left hand constantly hovered above her kunai pouch. However, the few civilians that she passed seemed completely uninterested in her, nor did they react to her uniform.

She had no idea where she was, or how she got here, but she could deal with this. She was one of the best kunoichi in Konoha. All she needed to do was find out where she was, and then the direction that led to home. Easy. Even a genin could do it. Yuugao flexed her fingers and marched right into the market.

Having averted her eyes at the sight of him- she really didn't want to fall into one of his genjutsus- she missed the look of disappointment. She was confused at his words, and even more so at the lack of counter-attack. They were clearly not in Konoha, but Yuugao would have been notified if he'd been taken off the list.

She moved back a little, taking a defensive position, but keeping him in range of her attacks. She wouldn't die without putting up a fight, even if he didn't seem interested in killing her right this moment, she didn't believe he'd just.. want to talk.

Nevertheless, maybe he could provide some answers for curiosity's sake, at least. "Where are we then?"

"We are in a village called Michi no Sato. You're the first you I've actually seen here Yuugao. We haven't had many ANBU arrivals."

If he'd been anyone else, she would've stared him down. As it was, she kept her eyes on his torso, in case he made any sudden movements.

"... That makes no sense. And there is no village called Michi no Sato."

"There is. It's the village of Michi no Sato in Jiten no Kuni. You are not home... and I am clearly not the Itachi with whom you have a familiarity. I have never been a missing nin." Looking at his torso worked in a way, considering that his coat was snowy white and while cut in a similar fashion to the Akatsuki coat... clearly wasn't the same.

Apparently it would be pointless to argue with him about the existence of this village, and country.

"I realise I am not home but whether you are the Uchiha Itachi I know of? I don't believe there's another one of you." Sure he was dressed differently, but they're just clothes.

"You would believe wrong." His tone turned wry then. "There is myself. I am the Godaime Hokage. After that is the missing nin you know, he's twenty one and rather ill, he lives with mother. There is the eight year old genin, and then there is the girl, who is, I believe, before she was, ah... requested to do unpleasant things at thirteen."

"You are the Godaime Hokage," she repeated in disbelief. "And you think there is a female version of you, along with the rest of them?"

Yuugao lowered her katana and stands up straighter- it didn't seem like she was going to die today. He was clearly insane. Did that mean she was in some kind of mental institution?

"If you'd like to meet them I'm sure I can find someone for proof." His tone was heavy with amusement. "You always were the practical one on the team."

"On what team?" They'd never even met each other before. She still couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes, but she was certainly feeling more and more out of place. Maybe she really was crazy and this was all in her imagination- after years in the ANBU, psychological problems weren't uncommon.

"When I was an ANBU captain, you were on my team. Though it sounds that that isn't the case for you, so forgive me my familiarity."

She took a deep breath in, and out, willing herself to remain calm. "You ah- left the ANBU before I joined."

"Alright, let's say that we really are in Michi no Sato. Why are we here, and how did we get here?" She could figure this out logically once she had more information, and maybe everything would make more sense.

"No one has been able to discern that as of yet. In fact, I've come to understand we're simply the most recent generation of incoming shinobi, and it has happened in the past for varying lengths of time, between a few days to several years. I myself have been here nearly six months."

Well, that wasn't helpful in the least. "Can you prove any of what you've been telling me?"

"All of it, though the point on Godaime would mean you having to take the word of a fourteen year old you might have never met."

You couldn't blame her for being skeptical, could you? A little stiffly, she stated: "I will not be treating you with the respect such a title deserves."

Whether or not he actually had the title was a whole other issue, but treating him as the fifth Hokage would be a betrayal to the Lady Tsunade.

"I'm unfortunately used to that by now. Thankfully the other Kage here have no such issues with my leadership." He cocked his head to the side. "On that note, I'm simply the Kage, here, given the mix of shinobi from various villages that have been stranded here."

"There are other Kage here? Which ones?" She paused. More importantly- "Which villages?"

"Yugito of Kumo, Gaara from Suna, two of him Kage, actually, one a child. Minato-sama is also here, and I keep hearing that Hashirama-sama is here but I've yet to track the man down."

"Is there anyone else from Suna?" Yuugao was hoping that he didn't know much about her- at least in her uh, timeline- and wouldn't guess why she asked that specific question.

"Gaara's sister." There was a pause and he actually thought about it. "Most here are from Konoha with a scattering of others and missing nin."

Yuugao sheathed her katana and said nothing. It didn't seem like she'd need it against him. "So, the missing nin- they aren't punished for what they've done?"

A thought suddenly occurred to her, and she untied her mask, letting it hang from her belt. "If there are so many.. versions of people, is there- I mean.. Is Hayate here? Do you know him?" Her voice sounded a lot less authoritative, but to be fair, it was a lot to take in: the fact that Konoha wasn't an entity and therefore the invalidity of her ANBU status, the possibility that Hayate was still alive, and the likelihood of her being insane.

"I haven't seen a version of him yet, though the younger girl Sasuke seems to know him, and he was on my team with you back where I'm from..." He shook his head slightly. "I would be happy to see any of my ANBU, he's no exception, though it's yet to be."

There was a faint look of disappointment that was quickly hidden, but was certainly noticeable. It didn't matter anyway, since neither of those was her Hayate.

"I see.. Well, thank you for the information."

"...Is there a reason you wouldn't expect him to be at home?"

She just blinked at him and ran a hand through her hair with a small sigh.

"He was killed."

Aww Hayate. And yay you know who she is! :D

Indeed! In my headcanon they met on his team. She helped when he got uh, promoted to hokage.

How did he get promoted to hokage? Do you have his background anywhere? I'd be interested to read it

Oh! I haven't finished everything up to when he's from, but pretty close.
