It's so pretty...

He was dressed up. Where his mother had managed to locate anything to dress him up with on such short notice with he had no idea, but it meant when he took off roaming he was a streak of dark blue and red amid those at the festival as he went here and there, utterly fascinated by the new sights.

He'd been to festivals in Konoha, yes, but those were different. This was -new-.

It also meant he wasn't exactly being the most attentive person ever, and had escaped the people he'd been with. Unintentionally, of course.

"I know. You're nice because you're nice." He wrung out the words in a happy tune. "But it's nice that you're an Uchiha too." He grinned at him.

There was a beat, then he seemed to relax, smile returning. "Okay! Then that's fine."

He smiled back at him, giving him a firm nod.

He beamed and turned to head into the crowd, towing him along. "Come on, lets go play with the games. I'll see if I can't win otouto and mom a prize or two. Hmm, and you too!"

He followed after him, letting him lead the way. "Maybe... I can win something for Nii-san."

He nodded firmly at that. "Yes! Let's do that then!"

"What game do you want to play?" He'd never been to a festival before, couldn't imagine what games they had, let alone how he was supposed to play them, but he was curious, and wanted to learn.

"There's a lot of accuracy games, and speed games, and the fish game. Hmmm, accuracy games should be pretty good for prizes." He veered off hunting for one.

"Like throwing kunais and shuriken?!" He knew that. He might not have been as good as his brother, but he did well with them.

He nodded at once. "Usually darts and rings though, so the civilians are less likely to hurt themselves."

His brows knitted together in confusion.

"How do you play that?"

[stillpure]

"It's pretty obvious." He led him along to one of the ring tosses and hummed. "Like this! See all the bottles? You have to get the rings onto the bottles with certain colors to get certain prizes, see?"

He looked over at the stand, and watched someone throw a ring toward the bottles and heard the consequent ping as it hit the bottle and fell down.

"Oh."

He nodded and leaned over the counter to get rings for them both with a few bills. "Okay, let's try!"

He nodded. "You first." He wanted to watch him.

He nodded, studying the array carefully as he fingered the rings before carefully tossing, making sure he didn't throw so hard they spun straight back off again.

He watched intently, noting the angle and speed, and when he landed the shot he swiveled around to face him with a big smile.

"You did it!"

[stillpure]

He looked over and smiled brightly in turn. "I did."

"What prize are you going to pick?"

[stillpure]

He pondered this. "The Hawk plushie. I have to get more rings on first though to get it since it's bigger."

More rings? He had thought he'd only need one.

"Oh. Okay!" He stood back and watched him make his other throws, noting how many he needed to get the hawk he wanted.

He hummed, very carefully tossing the rest to make sure he didn't miss since he had to get them -all- for the toy. Pleased when he managed it, he hugged the toy to himself and looked at the other boy. "Your turn!"

He picked up a few rings, though he hesitated. He'd never had the opportunity to get anything for himself, everything he'd ever received had been given to him. He didn't know how to choose such things, so he turned to Itachi.

"What do you want?"

He blinked at him, surprised. "Uh... I didn't really plan to pick anything for me." He looked up at the items, clearly at a loss.

"You're not," he explained. "I am."
