It wasn't a bad sort of place. Lots of things to do and people to see. Plenty of freedom to dart over the rooftops and down the alleys--or out of the village and into the woods and rocky wild places beyond. Obito liked Michi no Sato.

He had stopped for lunch and was eating at a table outside the restaurant, watching people walk past. The food was good. The cold breeze was nice. Ah, yes. Years and years trapped in a cave with a crazy old man and a bunch of plant monsters--it had left him really able to appreciate the little things.

[ooc: here is an AU Obito in his twenties. Got through the time with Madara, and Rin's death, but didn't go completely evil after all of it...]

As long as any time soon translated to never, that was fine. The reminder of that place leaves her glancing up at him with an expression of purest horror. "No, we're not talking about that!" she orders firmly, lifting her chin to free one of her hand so she can smack his arm.

"I don't think I even told you about that, did I?" He looked sideways at her, frowning a little as he rubbed his arm a little. "The entire thing where I got pregnant that is. Not that I know what would have happened after that, but, well, I have to admit I'm curious if Naruto's jutsu actually works that way. Not that I intend to test the theory mind!"

That had him fascinated. "One of those gender switching jutsus? I've tried those." He tilted his head slightly, thinking about it. "I don't see why... if you did it right, and could keep it up long enough, it might work." And he looked at Tenten. "For anyone, I mean. If you wanted to... you know, be the father instead of the mother. Theoretically."

"You did tell me," she murmurs a little quietly, glancing up at him and running her fingers down his forearm. "Not long after we first met, you remember?"

A moment as she just stares at Obito for a long moment, then immediately shakes her head, braid whipping dangerously back and forth from the speed. "Thanks, but no thanks. Why I am even talking about this with you, I barely know you!"

Itachi ducked his head slightly to avoid getting smacked by her braid due to their close proximity. "It's not important now in any case! We're young yet." He paused a beat. "Though as she never told me her age the only certainty I have is that Sasuke is youngest."

He looked back to Obito after he was sure she was done with the flailing. "I can't say I wasn't thrilled with the jutsu when I ah, borrowed it off Naruto honestly. It would have made the various adventures in crossdressing Iruka liked to inflict on me much less complicated."

[mooneye]

"Well, Uchiha babies are the best babies. That said you are both very young and probably shouldn't get into that sort of thing any time soon."

He grinned at that. "It's a handy little transformation."

She is done with this part of the conversation and just shakes her head again. "Seventeen," she mutters finally, giving Itachi a glance. "Same age as you."

He blinked then, giving her an appraising look. "Then you're older than me, actually, by several months. Your birthday is an earlier part of the year than mine."

He looked back to Obito and hummed. "Better than a standard henge, certainly given it's not an illusion."

[mooneye]

He nodded, leaning back. "I'm better with illusion than actually turning things into other things, personally."

[bunsofsteel]

"Oh please, as if it makes that much of a difference." Still, she can't help but get a small, pleased flush. Was it too childish to think of it as having beaten him at something?

She falls silent to listen to the other two, resting her chin easily on both of her hands. After all, that wasn't her specialty at all, so it was interesting to hear about.

"It could."

He shook his head slightly. "Naruto's method is different. It's not draining like the temporary methods that used to be in common circulation. I've seen Academy students use it easily. I'll show you later okay?"

He flashed him a smile. "I'm -excellent- with illusions though. Not as good as Shisui was, but very good none the less."

[mooneye]

His lips quirked at their banter. And he listened about the jutsu. It was interesting. True transformations were usually an awful drain to keep up. "I'd like to see it." He said. And perked, hearing about the illusions. Looking more cheerful but, at the same time, a little more dangerously intent. "I'd like to see one of your illusions, too."

[bunsofsteel]

She's not sure if she wants Obito seeing these illusions, and her lips start to curve into another frown. That dangerous intent wasn't something she liked at all. "Yeah, maybe another time. You don't want to shock the poor people working here, do you?"

Itachi hummed and leaned to put down some coins. "Then let's go somewhere where we aren't taking up a table of the poor business then mm?"

[mooneye]

A little breath of excitement! He hadn't really expected to be taken up on the suggestion so soon!

Tenten almost, almost growls low in her throat, but she just smiles and uncharacteristically takes Itachi's hand and holds it tight. It might be natural for any other couple, but she didn't do it often, not liking having her hands not free.

Around Obito was an exception.

Itachi blinked at Tenten for that, surprised, then just laced their fingers together before moving so she could get up out of the chair. "We'll go to our training ground, we're the only ones liable to be there."

[mooneye]

The hand holding gets the quietest of little awws from him. He thinks for just a moment of trying to stir up some kind of trouble by... but no. That would be wrong and he does try not to give in to chaotic impulses. Usually.

He rises quick from his own seat and slides around the edge of the table smooth as smoke. "Excellent. Lead on."

It's a smooth, easy motion to rise from the chair and step in somewhat closer than usual to Itachi for something as simple as walking, but she only smiles at Obito again. Let him try something with Itachi, and he'd see just why Itachi was so proud of her weapons. "Maybe we'll get lucky and Sasuke will be there."

Baffled by her sudden touchy feely reactions, he gave her another curious stare, then started walking off toward home. "That would be excellent. Then they could meet each other too!"

[mooneye]

That got a startled, raspy laugh from him because the thought was horrifying and wonderful and he could only imagine such a meeting ending in a truly fantastic disaster.

She quirks both eyebrows up at Itachi, but only smiles sweetly again. "I'm sure they'll get along. You're all Uchiha, after all."

[youngesthokage]

Itachi gave her a wary look then, and looked to Obito, utterly serious as he continued to walk. "Please don't get Sasuke to try to set you on fire okay?"

[mooneye]

"...I have a feeling that..." explosion is going to be unavoidable. But hey, what did he know? Might as well think positive. "...I will do my best not to be set on fire."

[bunsofsteel]

"Good luck~" Another smile as she keeps her hand in Itachi's, running her thumb over the back of his hand. "So what kind of illusions are you going to show us, Itachi-sama?"
