Today felt like a magnificent day.

No, really, when ever had he started thinking like this? He felt so much lighter since that day, even with the knowledge of the future being as ludicrous as it was. He had, after all, another knowledge to counterbalance it.
After breakfast was an affair that was taken care of -oh, and he would need to buy bread once he got back home- he washed the plate and teacup he used and left them to dry before putting on his boots, coat and giving a light snicker as he wound and then tied his scarf, a few memories drifting by him.

And so, he went out of the now-still appartment, taking out the frowning dragon keychain and looking at it fondly for just a half-second before locking the door, pocketing the key and... nearly geting some sort of breacelet dropped on his head.

There was a blink as the trinket was kept from hitting the ground, a practiced hand swiftly picking it up in mid-air as he glanced up... and then his eyes widened in shock. So many birds, so many vivid colors. He couldn't help but stare, briefly mesmerized by the scene.
Then, there was the missive with the bracelet, which he unfloded to read... and the white eyes narrowed.

It was quite enticing, but also.... quite suspicious. The Hokage should already be aware of this, but in case he was not, and because he wished advice on what to do, there was nothing better but to ask him his advice, if he had any orders.
He picked up one more of the similar notes along with a seashell on his way to where Tenten had pointed him to the Hokage's dwelling.

This must be why her name's sound was like twice a dash of heaven. "You are so good to me... I do feel I owe you, so... it may be a good reason to just let you put my hair in pigtails." he chuckled lightly. "Sorry for burdening you with hunting down some food... Keep the receipts and I'll give you back whatever you spent since technically I would have spent it either way~"

She snorted through her nose with more than a little amusement, keeping her fingers there against his lips. "If I'd known that was all it'd take~" she teased, though her expression softened as she nodded. "But yeah, leave it to me, Neji. You just worry about getting better."

He made a noise of commitment before kissing her finger and murmuring around it. "I should most likely try to rest after your visit is over... as immensely boring as sleep is there is little else to do around here. Then again, it must be the main point."

"Yeah, rest is the most important thing." She sighed and shook her head, brushing her fingers over his lips one more time before sitting back again. "I should probably head out soon, huh?"

[your_destiny]

"If you wish. I am hardly in a hurry to see you leave though~" he purred. "I did not think I would get a visitor, so the action is quite welcome." and yes he did call this 'action'.

"Well maybe if you were nicer to people," she teased, giving him another smile and shaking her head. "Of course I'd come visit you though, you should always expect that. As soon as I heard."

[your_destiny]

"...sorry. You must have been immensely worried when you did. It is a good thing this was all cleared up." he gavea light, relieved sigh. "As for being nicer to people..." he paused, expression shifting. "I definitely... will." Not 'will try'. Quite a few things had gone on, to shift his views.

...his narrow views.

"Of course I was worried! I'd be worried even if we weren't -- you know." She waved a hand and gave him another frown, though it quickly turned into a smaller smile. "That'll be... nice to see, Neji. Just don't turn boring like that other you, okay...?"

"Yes. I know." he gave her a smile and a nod. "You know, if not turning boring is a way to defy fight... I just might try my best not to become as he is!" he gave a light grin.

"You'd better." She laughed a little at the way he defined that, but hey, as long as it worked. "I'll make sure that you do."

[your_destiny]

"If making sure I do involves my hair in pigtails every morning....." he gave her an unblinking stare.

She laughed and rested her chin on her palm. "That would mean I'd have to wake up with you every morning, doesn't it? So that doesn't seem all that bad~"

"You.... certainly do know how to get me to think of things other than woes that may befall me" he gave a light grin and shook his head. "You still do have to spy upon this house's ersidents, however... which I wonder, though. Do you believe any of them could be a threat? Spying is a good way to claim the advantage of intelligence that can be used against others, although you are quite bound to it without much free time, no?"

"Mmhm." Her expression sobered as she exhaled a sigh, scooting in closer so they wouldn't be overheard if Sakura were listening. "Could be. There's Kabuto-san, who the Future You warned me to stay away from... and Hokage-sama is suspicious of his own mother, I think, so I'm just... watching everyone." A shrug and a smile. "It's Hokage-sama's orders."

"I have no right to further speak of matters I know nothing of." he took advantage of their proximity to kiss her cheek. "Oh, before I forget, should you see anything you wish to get for yourself while picking up my groceries tomorrow morning, do feel free to add it. I should, after all, offer you something for your troubles... other than the right to play with my hair that is."

Such a sweet gesture, the kiss to her cheek... she relaxed there, shifting her chair to rest her head atop his shoulder, a hand moving to twine with his. "I'll see. Do you like any kinds of sweet things? I could get something like that for us to share..."

"Hmm.. it has to be easy to digest" he pondered. And pefferably liquid. "Sherbet and ice cream come to mind.. along with pudding." the hand into hers started stroking the side and knuckles as it did almost every time.

"I'll see what I can find, then." She returned the gesture to his hand, smiling a little softly at it. "Make sure you find out from Sakura-san what you can and can't eat, too."

[your_destiny]

"I will, yes. I will be seeing her tomorrow either way. We can adjust if needed, although I am certain anything you get will be fine." he knew he did not ahve to remind her to not get any spicy things.

No, that he didn't have to do. As hilarious as his reactions to spicy things was... No, she wouldn't. Not until he was healed, anyway. She just nodded and stayed resting against him, rather comfortable in spite of the awkward position.

And he kept stroking with his thumb, a light smile upon his face. "If we had not been teammates... I doubt I would have grown as much as I did." he shifted slightly to look at her. "I am truly grateful... for everything." it did feel peaceful, despite his current condition.

"So it's all thanks to me, huh?" she teased, leaning up to press her lips to his for a soft kiss. "But seriously, Neji... as long as you're happy, I'm happy. And if it means growing to accept the Head Family... then that can only be a good thing, right?"

"I have accepted Hinata-sama." he pointed out. "I will see for the rest... in a case-by-case basis since this place works in a strange way." a thought came to him then. "I do have one more person I should apologize to... whenever I can safely move around again."

"Oh?" She looked to him then, brow furrowed. "Who else? More importantly, are they going to try to punch you, too?"

"I do not know... but I believe it should go without any violence. The one I should apologize to eventually would be my older self, since he... did witness those hurtful words I threw to Hinata-sama, and very wrongly perceived him when he interfered. It would be ebst... to mend bidges..." he fiished with a sigh. "I never did care, before, just what others thought... because I thought my suffering was greater when... it was no reason to act in such a way."
