So he might have taken to running around the village collecting the baubles the birds were dropping into a backpack. Including getting onto the rooftops to make sure that he was the closest thing to be noticed by them to get said baubles.

After all, nothing like this had actually been seen around the village for anything remotely close to low prices before so this was a prime opportunity to his view.

And they might have been rather pretty too.

Today felt like a magnificent day.

No, really, when ever had he started thinking like this? He felt so much lighter since that day, even with the knowledge of the future being as ludicrous as it was. He had, after all, another knowledge to counterbalance it.
After breakfast was an affair that was taken care of -oh, and he would need to buy bread once he got back home- he washed the plate and teacup he used and left them to dry before putting on his boots, coat and giving a light snicker as he wound and then tied his scarf, a few memories drifting by him.

And so, he went out of the now-still appartment, taking out the frowning dragon keychain and looking at it fondly for just a half-second before locking the door, pocketing the key and... nearly geting some sort of breacelet dropped on his head.

There was a blink as the trinket was kept from hitting the ground, a practiced hand swiftly picking it up in mid-air as he glanced up... and then his eyes widened in shock. So many birds, so many vivid colors. He couldn't help but stare, briefly mesmerized by the scene.
Then, there was the missive with the bracelet, which he unfloded to read... and the white eyes narrowed.

It was quite enticing, but also.... quite suspicious. The Hokage should already be aware of this, but in case he was not, and because he wished advice on what to do, there was nothing better but to ask him his advice, if he had any orders.
He picked up one more of the similar notes along with a seashell on his way to where Tenten had pointed him to the Hokage's dwelling.

((OOC: yea, anyone can meet him otw there~ flee!!))

The strange weather was starting to warm up so that he could spend more time out on his balcony in his downtime. His landlady was most generous in letting him work in her shop when she wanted to do other things for a cut in his rent. Really, it was a great arrangement. The peace and quiet of the village was nice, but it was something he wasn't really used to just yet. He was a man of action, always doing something for the Hokage.

When the sky seemed to crack and the birds appeared, Kakashi could only wonder what would happen next. One of them dropped a letter, with a pretty little beaded bracelet near his foot. He bent over to read the missive and pondered the situation. It was nice to know that this village wasn't the only place in this strange little world he'd been mysteriously delivered into. The transportation key was a bit dangerous, so that was ruled out immediately. But a trip over the mountains? That would be a chance to do more reconnaissance than he'd been able to do.

He packed up his meager belongings and got together enough supplies to last him for the trip on foot. It only took a few hours to get his preparations completed and headed out towards the village's gates that had reappeared. He felt lighter again and ready for some sort of adventure.

Okay, so, he was supposed to have met Choji and Shikamaru to go over some details for the team's new mission for the next day—he could tell Ino-chan separately or make Shikamaru do it—but when he'd opened the door to the restaurant the Akimichi heir had picked, he ended up in a land with crazy colored birds dropping stuff on his head.

He rubbed his head where some weird looking shell bracelet had struck as he looked at the attached note. Return of shinobi? Riku no Sato? Michi no Sato? What the hell was going on here?

The sudden desire for a cigarette claimed him, and he patted the pocket where he normally kept them, only to find it empty. Whatever kind of trick this was, it wasn't funny.

Spring

The bloody skies didn't break off at all as quietly as they had come, sharp intense cracks breaking across the morning like small explosions as dust and rock littered down from the sky to let in sunlight that hadn't been properly seen for a week. With it came a resurgence of winter cold, evidenced in sharp winds across the whole of the village.

It was not, however, as odd as the birds. They broke through the cracks like falling leaves, unseen outside the reaches of the genjutsu turned solid, but they were real enough inside. And all of them were brilliant colors. Blues, greens, yellows, reds. No color was left unrepresented. They seemed indiscriminate in their delivery though, trinkets or messages being dropped on the first person to cross under their wings.

They were letters that all said the same thing though.

To whom it may concern,

In light of the recent news that Michi no Sato's shinobi have finally returned, any who wish are invited to the sea for a day for the festival that is being held in honor of our country once more having her mighty protectors.

All who choose to accept need only give a missive to one of the birds and the key to the transport seal left in generations past will be given to you for a use. Another key will be given upon arrival that anyone who wishes may return home.

Over-mountain transport is also possible. Simply follow the birds west and we will greet you with open arms upon arrival in two days time. Whatever you choose, welcome! You have been missed.

Signed,
The citizens of Riku no Sato

The trinkets were another matter entirely, being coral bead bracelets or delicately carved shells. All were clearly fine craftmanship, and were in no small amount of supply.
