Lee had thus far enjoyed the festival quite a bit, having gone from here, to there, to other points entirely, and it had been absolutely invigorating to do so! At the moment, however, he was comfortably between ventures, and had plunked down on a low tree branch with several unlit lanterns he was trying to figure out the best balancing configuration for.

Likely because they were all breakable but... the point still stood.

Fire Festival

Now that everyone has really settled into the festival, and it's in full swing, there will be seals sold at stands that give the illusion of whatever clothing they're put on being made of colored fire. It's only an illusion, of course, but it still adds another layer of brilliance to the festival, and one of the special berry specialty alcohols of the region have finally been broken out.

It's a two week festival for the best weather of the year, who are the locals to not revel in it?

"They call this a fire festival?" the boy muttered into the air, walking around and glancing at stalls here and there. "Tch... more fireworks."

Some of the academy students raced around about, a girl with pigtails and a boy with glasses inquiring aloud as to why their sensei wasn't wearing any festive garments.
"I'm wearing it." he replied with a slight frown.
"But it's black..." the boy blinked behind his glasses.
"Black isn't a festive color at all!" the girl pouted slightly.

"It's shimmery!" he poked at the cloth, and indeed, it was somewhat less dull that what he usually wore.
"Oh. It is!" the boy seemed to accept this as answer.
"But it's still black!" the girl argued.

Madara's eyebrows were knitted. What kind of logic was that? He was about to reply when a booming voice came from behind him.
"Akemi!! Hiro!! Come on, you both gotta see this!!" another boy cried out, earning a scowl from the small Uchiha. The bespectacled boy excused himself before he and the girl raced away to join their companion.

Locating one stall that had earned his favor, he got himself some grilled fish on a stick before making his way out of the main grounds.
Too many people, and too loud...

The fire festival was here, and ater that run-in with Obito, Itachi decided to see if he actually could make colored fire. It would be quite a surprise for his littlest brother and his friends, and that was why he decided to attempt it.

He couldn't do it with chakra alone, but they were selling packets of chemicals along with the fireworks. And that, combined with a good breath, should make a fire jutsu unlike any Uchiha had ever made.

Time to give it a shot. (Far away from the house, of course.)

There was nothing Sasuke loved more than festivals. It was a great excuse to have a good time, and to look at the ladies, or at least in his world. Here, he was saving his gazes up.

Today, he had resolved to draw Sakumo out, because really, the guy worked too hard, and how do you even build a relationship if you don't spend any time together? That was, he had to believe, his own fault for only ever bring him tea now and then and trying not to bother him too much... but it was not -bothering someone- if it was just reminding them they existed, right?

And so he showed up at the medic-nin's door, knocking and ready to pounce on him the moment it opened.
Alternatively, if he happened to be out, he had other options, but he would wish for nothing more than letting Sakumo relax today.

//open to anyone else, even if ambiguous :p

Fire Festival

Clouds rolled in, and with them came a rather large number of merchants from the north, all of them loaded down with the kinds of things one would usually expect to see in a shinobi's hands, not a civilians.

What were these items? Fire. Fireworks, sparklers, lamps that burned in most of the colors of the rainbow, oils for refilling lamps of that type in a range of scents.

Sure, these merchants had other things too, ice creams, chocolates, and all manner of summer snacks came with the caravan, but there was no where to go in this town that didn't have something selling fire.

Suffice to say that burn injuries skyrocketed once the lanterns started to be lit, and the village slowly moved up to a daytime glow even at night from them.

To say nothing of the bonfires.

[Return of the festival! You didn't think these were only a winter thing did you? Enjoy!]
