"This was not my fault... this was NOT my fault, dattebane!"

Even with the greatest of efforts, Naruto slipped and fell face first into the pile of gifts in her room. She couldn't close the door, the piles of boxes with shiny paper is EVERYWHERE, there is glitter all over her orange kimono, candy wraps in her hair and now a bit of cake in her face.

"GOD DAMN IT STOP IT!"

She yelled when she heard doorbell ring AGAIN, and she scrambled to her feet, rushing to close the window. Nothing shall enter the room anymore. Nothing.
She only wanted to burn the doll in the square, in the big bone fire. But when people saw her... problems started. Which led to current predicament.

She grabbed the broom that was leaned against the wall when she heard footsteps down the hall- she is NOT going to accept ANOTHER gift. She will sweep the person AND the gift out of the room.

He couldn't feel anything.

He knew he should be feeling sad to see all those people he knew vanish one by one, leaving him all alone. He should feel cold.. right?

What happened? Why was everything bright red and dimming over?

There was laughter. He couldn't hear it but he knew it was someone laughing. Something cruel, sharp, stabbing.

Stabbing

He felt sudden, excruciating pain. It was as if his body and soul were being ripped apart.

There was a scream. Loud, piercing, echoing his pain.

He sat up in bed, drenched in cold sweat. Had he been screaming? He couldn't tell. All he knew was that he was feeling something again, hearing correctly. He let out a shaky breath, shoulders sagging in relief as he ran a hand through short, tangled locks of hair. "...nightmare..."he murmured into the dark.

Naruto was having ramen on the roof of the house, staring forward.

That memory still haunted him... Hadn't it been years since then? He knew it would never leave, and when it happened... he had resolve to grow stronger so something like this would never happen again.

...the fact remained that it did happen. He should have resolved to be stronger sooner... because if he had, Sasuke would still be alive.
Since that day, ramen tasted different.

He had been surprised at the weather, unable to help but to appreciate the pretty snowfall as he picked his way through it, being very careful not to get it into his shoes. He didn't think he would get sick, but he didn't want to risk the possibility.

Between everyone in the house he probably wouldn't even be able to move an inch without someone suddenly being there and that would put a huge kink in pretty much everything. He'd gotten really fond of exploring this village on his own, after all.

For now though, he was trying to avoid making new footprints in the snow, though how successful he'd been,he wasn't terribly sure, as he hopped from one bare spot to another.

[There's a very different Naruto peeking up out of a concealed cave just outside the village, a confused scowl on his face. Above definitely didn't look like this the last time he came out this way!

He slides a little further out of the cave, trying to be as subtle as a teenager dressed in blue and purple, with a hip-length fluffy ponytail can be. But he's had good teachers, so that's actually a respectable level of stealth.

Sure as hell isn't Rice Country, this. So for safety's sake, he reaches up and unties the hitai-ate he wears, marked with the musical note, and tucks it safely away inside his vest before he emerges fully from the cave, looking around. The outskirts of the village are close by, and that might be a place to start with figuring out where the hell he is, anyway.]

Naruto was walking along the streets of Michi, hands linked behind his head, that silly goofy grin still on his features.

Wonder if I'll be lucky enough to have someone buy me ramen~
Apparently it hardly mattered how much ryo he had. Free ramen always tastes better~

Since a few days, perhaps even weeks, Naruto had been trying to find anything he could about seals, be it with any scrolls that were somehow brought back (which implied he was spending some time in the house's library, sometimes even falling alseep there amongst books and scrolls) or by seeking people versed in such to teach him a few things. Books were more readily available though, since people actually seemed ever-busy.

Today he was taking a break, or so it seemed, having ventured outside and, since morning, seated cross-legged upon the largest branches of a tree. He had been accumulating nature chakra steadily, if only because he wished to. Thanks to this, he was also keenly aware of where -and who- were in the village as his awareness spread. He could feel all his important people's chakra, and a few new ones he hadn't felt or met, although they were familiar. He was briefly amused that there were many Sasukes, and Nejis among others...

Orange-rimmed eyes opened slowly as he felt someone approaching...

They died because of you.

It was lying innocently on the desk in her room, window open and making other papers on the table flutter softly and then fall on ground.

Naruto was nowhere in sight.

Naruto was out at one of the training grounds, working out as he often was. He needed to keep his skills sharp, in case things started going bad. Granted, in a way this place was perfect. He had his parents back, he had a group of little 'brothers.' He even had hopes for someone for the future. Now he just had to stay strong, for his previous people.

However, today was not a good day, because of the piece of paper that dropped to the ground in front of him. Being the curious one he was he picked it up... and his entire world shattered.

'It's your fault.'

Not even Kurama's voice was heard, as his heart fell backwards in memory. Something about those words triggered in him events that started when he earned his forehead protector. Mizuki. The traitor working for Orochimaru. However, it was a fear and doubt that was always at the back of his mind. He thought back to everyone whom had been harmed or died because of their involvement with him. His parents, Iruka-sensei, those who died during the Kyuubi's release before it was sealed... Hinata.

Something happened to him, something that had not happened for a very long time. He no longer could hear Kurama, and his chakra began to go out of balance, creating a bubbling red cloak around him... as he felt nothing but hate and loathing with himself... for the second time ever, Namikaze Naruto was falling into despair.

Looking at him, everyone assumes he's a clueless idiot, a child playing at being a shinobi. Even those that knew him, they saw the heart of old, the never-gving-up spirit, and the naive dead last who needed to come to grips with reality. And he was all of these things, but today he was different. He'd seen those running around doing their needed duties toward The Honoring. Today, Naruto had forsaken all of his showy garb, wearing standard mourning attire bearing the symbols of Konoha and the Uzumaki clan, missing his forehead protector causing his blonde locks to fall around his head. He went to the small shrine in the village, thankful that since this wasn't Konoha he wouldn't be thrown out or attacked for being there, he slowly lit incense and prayed for several individuals - his father, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Haku, Zabuza, and Jiraiya. He hoped their spirits were well, and for all but Hiruzen and Jiraiya he prayed that their afterlives were going well. A few moments of thought and he decided to include the two perverts in his wishes. He was still of a mixed mind for the two of them.

Once done he then prayed for those whom he'd left behind in his timeline hoping that they were alright, and those he'd met and knew about in this place including his various "brothers" that were alternate versions of himself, and his other comrades that he was aware of. This was a prayer of hope, of wondering if he truly deserved the family that he now had, and of the possibilities of the future. "Gama of the Mountain, help me protect my precious people, from the threats from without... and within." He clapped twice to finish his prayer, and with an offering of a bowl of ramen with the chopsticks over it, he stepped out and looked into the street, wondering what would come next.

He finally managed to use his closet as a ruse to slip his mom for a while, and headed outside, careful to stay out from under the open sky. Any bruises he got wouldn't last, sure, but he didn't want to risk his mom getting more protective than she was if she noticed any either. It was nice and all but... Yeah.

Besides, it was about time he explored. Better than being caught unprepared.

These bits of ice coming from the sky pelting him were annoying, but even meteorites would not stand between Naruto and his ramen. And so, the day found him at his usual spot, slurping happily on noodles.

He always looked so dense and stupid all the time, one might not believe he actually was listening on to the nearby gossips... which was holding his full attention.
Something about a siege in Reiraku, from what people from.. this.. Chikai place were mentionning. He continued slurping, and when no noodles were left, promptly drank the broth, paid for his meal... and headed out.

These tidings of war... He had no idea where these villages were, but he had to see the Kage. If he headn't heard already, he would bring over the news.

If anyone happened to be out on this particular evening, they may come across a familiar face. A familiar face with a dumbfounded look on it, as the ninja wanders aimlessly through the streets.

He's bored.

((ooc: wow replies are so slow this week im sorry, its a busy week!))

He'd tucked himself into a building to avoid an angry shopkeeper that had been particularly spiteful about him coming to their stand, but he must have fallen asleep, because it wasn't afternoon anymore.

It had to be night time, right? He shivered a bit as the cold air hit him, but he straightened, looking around with a little confused frown. This didn't look like the market area of Konoha so...

Nope, didn't get it.

Wrapping his arms loosely around himself, he started to carefully pick his way through town, making sure to stay out of everyone's way while he was at it.

He had done it. pain's last body had been destroyed by his Rasengan.

Naruto had closed his eyes, reminiscing the words he had been told, the reason for such acts.

Sudden cold hit him, and at first he thought it might just be despair since he was not actually certain how to handle this yet, but no. It was cold. Real cold, like that snow he'd felt in those countries he had gone on missions to.

Blue eyes opened, then widened in shock. "What the hell is this?" voice weighted by confusion, he scanned around slowly. This was not Konoha, because Konoha had been razed to the ground.

What was going on?
