Let's just enjoy the sun a bit. Close our eyes, maybe, and just relax.

She only meant to close her eyes for a few moments- honest. It was peaceful and it was the day in the week where she skipped training to let her body rest- so obviously a stroll around the village before settling herself to a picnic by her lonesome was warranted. Sakura twitched as she felt the brush of wind change direction. She opened her eyes slowly, squinting as the forest clearing that she was in was now not a clearing at all- rather, she was up on some hill's plateau or something.

Wait. What.

Panic arose in her chest as she pushed herself off the ground, immediately trying to take in her new surroundings. She didn't feel hazy like she would have felt if she had been in a genjutsu- that was for sure. And she was also damned sure that she didn't give up any blood what-so-ever to be summoned.

Sakura grimaced as she pat herself down, taking the hidden kunai she always kept even when in civilian clothing, and cautiously surveyed her settings. A faint, but definitely man-made path lead down to a more travelled road, and Sakura soon found herself staring- gaping?- at the village she found herself in. Gods, where in seven hells was she? Faintly, in the back of her mind, she could hear a character from a film she watched ages ago saying something about they not being in Kansas anymore...

Questions were definitely not going to answer themselves, and against all proper decorum she sucked in a breath and walked straight into town.

[[ hello. ;A; i missed rping so um i just found this place and um. yes hi? i've been out of this fandom for way too long and haven't kept up so uh have a future!AU Sakura that spawns from probably after Pein's attack on Konoha herpderp >__> ... and when i say future, i mean like future. She doesn't often get the chance to get out of Konoha. With the way that the team tends to always be busy with individual missions and the way her own hands were usually full helping Shizune or the Lady Hokage, she is assigned missions the least often in her team. It's a nice change of pace, then, when she finally does get a mission. Even if the mission is a fairly simple and uneventful one like this one, where she's carrying sensitive documents from one land to another under cover of darkness.

She's expecting an attempted ambush by a group of rogue nin bandits the Land of Ponds is concerned the Land of Rivers might have hired to prevent the information from reaching the Land of Prairies and potentially inciting a war between the two. It hasn't happened yet, and it's possible the plan of one kunoichi cutting through the mountain and forest has worked as it should and slipped through their ambushes undetected. It's possible, but she's not counting on that.

Then again, she's also not counting on walking through aforementioned forest and then, without any warning, stumbling out of it into a clearing with a village. A village? There aren't any villages of any sort--or indeed any civilization--for miles around the area she'd cut through. That can only mean--only in this case meaning the only plausible answer--that this is some sort of secondary Hidden Village starting up in the Land of Ponds.

It isn't the most reassuring or pleasant thing to stumble on, considering how well most Hidden Villages take to being discovered.

It's in the word 'hidden', really.

He quickly moved to intercept the youngest of his charges when the boy decided it would be a good idea to try the same jutsu again when he was already exhausted, grabbing his hands and smiling down at the boy as he shook his head. "Nope, I think we're done here chibi. Go home. Your mom will kill me if you go home passed out from trying too hard, okay?"

In spite of the pout he got in return, he ruffled the child's hair and released him, nudging him once between the shoulders. "I mean it. Go home, no more training, or I'll sic your sister on you! Sensei knows best!"

Finally, the boy seemed willing to concede and left the training field, much to Sakumo's relief. He really had no idea how his twin ever handled her own students when his were so stubborn.

Then again, what kind of healers would they have for the next generation if the lot weren't as stubborn as a dragon? Smiling to himself, he shook his head, giving a lazy stretch before starting for the edge of himself.

Lunch was definitely in order.

He had made his way down to the porch of the house that he lived in, and was staring toward the rest of the village, vaguely incredulous at how intense the weather had turned. "...This is really revenge for the nice weather, isn't it?"

She'd gotten more than her share of them, between Ino and the villagers, and it was about time she stopped hiding from mistakes made here and did something useful. Yes, she had her clinic, and people came to her for healing, but that was hardly enough. Even the pair of twins she'd ambushed once she'd got a look at their sense of chakra control could only learn so fast, no matter how many hours she used to turn the poor little civilians into a pair of proper medics.

She needed to go out and actually talk to her fellow shinobi and see what people intended to do.

He had... far too many people to tend to. Most wouldn't trust Kabuto as far as they could throw him, and his female counterpart had fled. It was enough to make him want to rip his hair out.

Instead, he decided that he was damn well going to give everyone in the place physicals so he would have a baseline to work with. If he was going to be the live in physician he was NOT going to put up with them going 'surprise!' every five seconds.

And he had some people he had to talk to. He'd start with those.

(OOC: So, anyone who lives with Mikoto, c'mon. I got this.)

He was late getting back to the hospital from his lunch break. Admittedly, he'd been having a lot of long days lately, what with having been tasked with the less than fun process of sorting out what incoming nin would be good for the medical classes Tsunade was starting up and who wouldn't, on top of his normal rotation, but that was no excuse. He still shouldn't have decided a nap was better than food.

Though, as one rather lingering look around could attest, it seemed that the nap had even less rewarding results than just being late back to work. No, it seemed he'd turned in late summer for the dead of winter in a place that was -definitely- not Konoha.

Grimacing, he rubbed his bare upper arms with a gloved hand and shoved to his feet. Great. Just great. Tsunade was going to kill him, and it wouldn't even be his fault.

She didn't know how well they'd work for medicine, but they lived close enough to where they grew on one wall that she felt she didn't need to worry about it. She got a laundry hamper full to examine and used if they proved as good as she'd heard.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

She was sorely under-dressed for this kind of weather, and she looked it, too. Within minutes, snow had thoroughly soaked her sandaled feet, her ponytail was sagging, and both arms were crossed tightly as she focused her Chakra to widen her blood vessels in her bare arms, creating at least an illusion of warmth. She had to get inside before someone spotted her. After all, a missing-nin wasn't... someone who should be walking around in the open like this.

From the glimpses of Sasuke she'd managed to catch, he wasn't wearing his forehead protector anymore. She'd almost thrown hers away, too, but couldn't bring herself to do so as easily. Instead, one night she'd taken a kunai to it and gouged a thick line across the symbol. That should do it.

This strange place was soft, though. Within a few minutes of walking down the street, someone had suddenly offered her a cloak; another, a pair of warm, lined boots, waving away her offers of payment through chattering teeth. It's from them she was able to find out some information... was this another one of Kabuto-sensei's tests? Best to find him and solve this puzzle, then get out of the cold.
willtowin: (Grumpy)
She had spent most of the morning exploring the strange town she'd woken up in, highly disoriented as to how she'd even gotten here when she'd gone to sleep, and a rather light one at that, barely a few minutes ago in one of the medic tents of the war zone. In essence, she was on edge, confused, and had been scouting out where she was for the better part of an hour.

Nobody here knew anything about any war.

Nobody here understood what she was asking the questions for and rather looked like they wanted to pat her on the head. In essence, the epitome of a situation that was designed to leave her staggering as she tried to understand the situation.

She blamed this for the fact that the chakra, refined unlike that of the villagers, didn't catch her attention until she'd already passed the other figure by. Unfortunately, by then something else had kicked in and it was a chain that drew her up short as she spun to see just who it was that was here with her.
