Deidara took a deep breath as he looked around the moonless night sky as large flakes fell around him. It was dark, captivating, and the snow added to the beauty of the scene. It was an art form in itself, the artistic spirit of Nature at its best. He took one deep breath and sighed, lowering his straw hat over his eyes as he smirked. Dipping his hand into his bag of clay, he took his hand out soon, hearing the mouth chewing happily on the clay. He then created a small bird. He let it fly for a bit before doing a hand signal and saying "katsu!" as he looked at the red of the explosion against the ivory of the snow-covered area.

Great. If it wasn't the side effects of Kabuto's various experimental treatments that kept him in the house (or bedridden, more accurately), it was the snow.

All Itachi could see from his window was snow. Thick. Packed. Cold. Snow.

And it didn't look like it was going away any time soon.

He had, on realizing how heavily the snow was coming down, decided to stay in his lab and try to wait it out.

After day two, he realized this might have been less than wise as his view of the outside became quite blocked, with the entrance thoroughly walled off in snow.

Come day three, he finally heard a lull in the constant faint tapping of what he'd come to realize was the snow outside his little cave network, muted though it had been, and he finally decided, after making sure all his projects were quite stable, that he needed to go -out-.

Digging his way free turned out to be another matter entirely though, and by the time he reached the surface of the snow, he was quite cold, damp, and half tempted to turn around and go back to his nice warm cave.

After all, what was out here that he actually wanted again?

Snowed in. Tenten never thought she would ever be in this kind of situation, but it was fun! It was an excuse to stay in and polish her weapons, or try more futile efforts to get Itachi to cook something that tasted good, or even just relax.

They could even spar, as long as their more destructive techniques were kept to a minimum. And sure, they could get out, if they really wanted to, but that just seemed like too much effort. There was food, there wasn't a problem with the water supply... in short, it was just about perfect.

The Blizzard

In the weeks leading up to this one, the locals had been going about getting everything buckled down and secured, stocked and readied, and it was all because of this.

The snow wasn't stopping. In fact, it had been two days and no sun had been seen in that time, with the snow just continuing to come down. It gave all new reasons to those balcony doors with locks that so many buildings in the village seemed to have on their second floors.

Even through all this though, more than one shopkeeper was seen out and about, moving from place to place through the covered walkways that seemed to span so much of the inner parts of the village markets. It was those away from the village proper that would feel the brunt of this, but fear not, if there isn't a walkway to you, people will be more than happy to dig you out to make sure you were provisioned.

Of course, if you're one of the lucky ones not trapped inside your house, you're more than welcome to join an excavation party. They'll even give you cookies!

Side note: The snow will indeed be deep enough to snow people in, not stopping until the four foot mark for those living on the cliff faces, and seven feet for those on the level valley floor. Most one story houses on the valley floor are connected to the walkway nexus! But... not all. Have fun everyone, and as always, suggestions welcome in the comments.
