The soak had been just what he'd needed after the day's workout and practice, and he rather cheerfully made sure that neither the towel around his shoulders, nor the one around his waist, was liable to go anywhere as he padded out into the hall, dirty clothes under one arm and the other hand on the knot of the towel.

Considering the layout of the house, it wasn't unheard of that something would have blown into the entrance way, which he was currently quickly cutting across to get to the stairs so he could head to his room for fresh clothes...

Sadly, no speed saved him from the seal that got stuck to his foot for a moment, activating before he could properly pull it off and catching him mid-hop to do just that and leaving his towel in a rather precarious position.

He'd finally managed to beat the newly vigilant Sasuke to being awake first, and had slipped out to get a warm up practice in before the other two would wake up, wanting to sort out his stiffness without an audience.

That was fairly quickly sidetracked as a flurry of papers flew up from the direction of the village, him reaching to snatch them out of the air so he could see what they were. Not exploding tags, thankfully, but he could tell a seal when he saw one.

Hrm.

(ooc: Minor dizzy spells when standing, constantly hungry unless he's just eaten, and currently only in sleep pants. Have fun!)

"Aaah! Get back here!" he'd let some concentration slip, and the paper had been blown off by the wind. He groaned as it flew far, far off, and pouted. He'd done good holding it for the best part of two hours, too!

He blinked then, eyes widening. There -was- a paper nearby! Not his paper, but any clean one was good, and this one was laying on the grass, all really bright and yellow! It demanded to be picked up, and Sasuke did!

Itachi wasn't sure where that piece of paper came from. Maybe Sasuke brought it with that stick of dango...

But it had some strange properties, that's for sure. And someone else was about to get the very short end of the stick.

She had left early in the morning for a jog before she started her training. Her routine since coming to Michi no Sato had been rarely broken. She woke up early, jogged around the village, trained for two hours—either by herself or with Neji-nii-san, and Naruto-kun later—before she went and did odd jobs for the villagers to earn some ryo.

When she reached the village proper, she noticed many slips of coloured paper on the ground. She stopped, trying to figure out where they'd come from. Surely if there had been some sort of celebration, she would have found out about it long before now, yes? She bent over to pick up the once closest to her, a lovely shade of orange that reminded her of Naruto-kun's jacket....

Curious, these pieces of paper. He was reluctant to touch them, but they appeared harmless enough, even as he surveyed them with his Byakugan. Perhaps a child had been overly excited for Tanabata?

In spite of his own foreboding, he bent to pick up an ivory-white one, turning it over between his fingers. Strange...

Too Exciting

It seems that now that the world has started to become aware of the Shinobi in Michi no Sato, or, at the very least, the country, that others have decided that they should show their opinion on the matter.

In this case, it was a dodgy old hermit who had been around for over fifty years and had actually gotten to learn from the last generation of shinobi that stuck around who had the opinion that was being shared. Suffice to say that when his wife and unborn child had vanished with all the rest when that generation of shinobi had departed, he'd decided he didn't want anything more to do with the entire process, and he'd since been more or less forgotten about by the current generation of villagers.

That by no means meant that he forgot about them, and he swept through one day, littering the village in the dead of the night with hundreds of of small pieces of paper. Only those with a high enough level of chakra would be affected, and it would require two people to have papers from the same set.

And what did these papers do? Why, they switched the bodies of those who held the paper. The effect lasted anywhere from minutes to hours, depending on the paper pair in question. He'd made sure to plant them close together so this was more likely to happen, of course, unwilling to let his little prank be ruined even though he retreated as quickly from the village as he'd arrived.

Suffice to say, everyone was in for an eventful week.

(Note: Basically, you pick up paper, whoever tags you if they would like picks up the other paper, switch for as long as it's fun. Just use each other's icons in the body of your text and run with it.)
