[Open] What...what just happened?
She had left early in the morning for a jog before she started her training. Her routine since coming to Michi no Sato had been rarely broken. She woke up early, jogged around the village, trained for two hours—either by herself or with Neji-nii-san, and Naruto-kun later—before she went and did odd jobs for the villagers to earn some ryo.
When she reached the village proper, she noticed many slips of coloured paper on the ground. She stopped, trying to figure out where they'd come from. Surely if there had been some sort of celebration, she would have found out about it long before now, yes? She bent over to pick up the once closest to her, a lovely shade of orange that reminded her of Naruto-kun's jacket....

Surely if there had been some sort of celebration, she would have found out about it long before now, yes? She bent over to pick up the once closest to her, a lovely shade of orange that reminded her of Naruto-kun's jacket....

Of course, once he spotted something bright orange, he had to be struck by the color contrast and pick it up. If it was only trash, at least it wouldn't be laying around.
On the edge of his vision, as his fingertips claimed the paper, he could see Hinata...

There was a sickening lurch and when she opened her eyes, she was across the street from...herself? She looked down to see that she was dressed in the long coat and...it was rather flat.
And her neck itched something awful. She put a hand up and nearly smacked herself in the face. She turned towards the nearest shop window and stared. "N-neji-nii-san?" Oh, she didn't sound right at all.
no subject
That hand, picking the paper? It was far too... gaceful to be his, not to mention this strange feeling that he was going to be sick just before his vision got mashed.
And then, the strangest of things happened.
Hearing his own voice and seeing himself from where he was. With that way of calling out, even with -his- voice?
So many thoughts went by that he felt somewhat lightheaded. He stopped himself from speech, because his voice sounding like hers? He gulped a too-large lump and took a step back, unwilling to move even his eyes to acknowledge what he dreaded his current form to be.
He -had- to think rationally...

She turned back around slowly, adjusting to a higher center of gravity in her younger-yet-older cousin's body. There was no mistaking the obvious teeth-shape bruise on his neck. The only culprit she could think of was...the younger Tenten-san.
Then, she blanched as she remembered exactly what had happened with Naruto-kun. Oh, oh... Oh, ancestors, please don't let him notice that.
no subject
He claimed a deep breath, but stopped doing so once he felt.. OH DEAR GODS! She's... her.... he has them too. Of course he would have THEM, but they were just MOVING along when he breathed in! How does THAT work!?
No more deep breaths, no more! Instead, he stormed towards her -himself?- blushing FURIOUSLY as he took her -his own?- hand, a deep, angry SCOWL that could burn the land on his face as he searched for an alley, and empty place, anywhere to take them to where no one would bother them or see him like this!!
no subject
She snatched her...his...arm away from her cousin with a barely acknowledged snarl. How dare he touch her like that! Not even his older self would dare to treat her so roughly. In fact, the last time anyone who had touched her so roughly had been him.
"What are you doing?" she whispered harshly, ignoring the tenor of her...his...voice. "You made it perfectly clear that you wanted nothing to do with me when I first arrived here, so what is this stupid joke now?"
no subject
She wasn't going to move. Damn it all...
He really did want to approach this in a straightforward manner, but it made no sense, and being her body, knowing he would have -her- voice?
"Fine then." no matter how that might look, it might -just- be something good after all. The more he thought about -appearances- the more his thoughts shifted towards darker recess he even ignored he had.
But by the fates did his voice sound weird coming from her.
He was not supposed to think this way anymore, waht with the future having been revealed to him, but... he was greatly attracted by that particular thought, as he remembered the chuunin exam's preliminaries, held not so long ago in his timeline... where he was only able to go all-out on her beacuse of the circumstances.
Whatever he originally wished to say had vanished. Eyes wee cold. Cruel. "...who looks like the main family now?"
no subject
Really, he was so stupidly predictable at this age. Always trying to bitch about the main family and the branch family. Now that she was older and knew what happened between their fathers and what his issue was, she was not inclined to indulge his temper tantrums.
"That doesn't matter, you idiot." Her eyes were as cold as ice, colder than the wind that blew through the streets. "I don't care about who belongs to which father, because our grandfather was a fool and you're being an even bigger fool now. I'm glad that you grow up eventually, because it's nice to have a family member who doesn't expect me to fail all of the time, but I'm done with you already today. You want to be a little brat for the rest of your life, fine. Do so. It seems as if someone," she pointed to her/his neck contemptuously, "finds you acceptable, but that is not me."
She leaned in closer, annoyed that he was taller than her in her own body. "And for the record, Neji-kun, you should look into better cover ups for your hickeys. They itch."
no subject
...there was nothing better -or worse- than being talked down by yourself in your voice.
...oh and she went as far as to--- he felt the color drain from his/her face.
..she said their grandfather had been a fool.. talkeda gainst the elder. It was even WORSE than badmouthing Hiashi-sama.
"...what am I.. even..." he was unable to finish his sentence, falling o his knees staring at the ground with unfocussed eyes. No, really, just what had come over him? "I'm dirty..." his voice was even more silent than wind, but he acknowledged the fact he -was- dirty. How could his own mind be so twisted? Using this situation in such a way. If only he had spoken to her sooner, found out her -own- thoughts about familly matters...
After the family matters, however? There were those words too.
...he -did- find someone that thought he was acceptable, and this? This couldn't get to her ears. "..more important than.. than my... ah.." did he really have that many of those hickeys? He hardly minded the itch, it reminded him of her! "....please don't.... tell her..."
no subject
She sighed heavily as she dropped to her own knees and placed a hand on either shoulder. "Listen to me, Neji-nii-san," she said quietly, ignoring the strangeness of the whole situation. "I do not hate you. Nor have I ever looked down on you for being a member of the branch family. My mother's sister always told me that every member of the clan is important and is irreplaceable. When I thought about it hard enough as a small child, all I thought of was how impressive you were. I was proud that you were my cousin."
She would not cry. Neji-nii-san did not cry when speaking to her, and she would at least extend that small comfort to this younger version of him. "When we fought during the chunin exam, I was scared, but I didn't let that hold me back. I still fought you, even though all the odds were against me. Because, I wanted to prove to myself that I wasn't just some weak, stupid, useless member of the clan. I needed to know that I wasn't just replaceable."
The corners of her mouth twitched even as guilt tugged at her heart. "I will not tell Tenten-san, if you will not tell Naruto-kun I was so harsh."
no subject
When she finished speaking, forgetting or entirely not caring for the reversal of bodies as his/her arms reached up. He had his head burried in his own chest, and he could feel one of those big buttons he had on his coat.
"....do I even.... deserve your forgiveness after all I just did and said?" the voice was shaky, and the body as well, but he never did cry.
"Hinata-sama... you... always were right.." and he? He was always wrong.
no subject
She patted her own back as her cousin shook, but didn't cry. "Do you wish for me to forgive you, Neji-nii-san? If so, then of course you deserve it."
She chuckled a little. "As for being right, I am not so sure about that. However, Shino-kun once told me that I am stubbornly determined. Perhaps that is what it is after all."
no subject
His grip shifted from the shoulders into something lighter.
"To think that I deserve it so easily... but... I will not argue." because after all...
...people do change....

The force of it rammed him into a nearby wall, and he could not recall any moment where he had felt more in pain.
Except... he had deserved that... and the other option she had as punishment was something he knew hse would never use. After all, it seems he was the only one thinking her forgiveness had been easily earned. This might even only be equal to -half- the pain he'd caused her.
"...you... did get stronger...in many ways." he acknowledged, fingers closing over hers slowly.

Carefully, she directed him to the clinic run by Sakura-san in the village, since that would be faster than taking him to Sakumo, and the damage was a little too much for her limited training to do much good. "Now, don't talk. I'm going to take you to Sakura-san to be looked over, alright?"

She'd shrunk. Noticeably. And she didn't recognize any of the clothes she was in anymore. Without a second though, she ran over to the nearest reflective surface.
She stared at the face that looked back at her. Blond hair, big blue eyes, whisker markings on her face. She looked around to make sure no one could see her and lifted up the shirt, staring at the seal on this body's stomach.
She was stuck. In the body of seven year-old Naruto-kun. Suddenly, she felt like crying.
no subject
After a minute of flailing, he looked around and edged into the shadow of a building... and unzipped the jacket. "Woah..."
no subject
She slumped into a dark corner and felt the tears welling up despite the fact that she had told herself she wouldn't do that. She was scared and wished that she knew what was going on. All she'd wanted to do was go for a run!
She gave herself five minutes of self-pity before she wiped at her eyes and stood back up, determined to find her own body and find out with the youngest Naruto-kun had gotten her involved in.
no subject
Having decided those were neat, he'd proceeded out into full daylight and had taken the jacked off, it held in one hand as he turned this way and that, looking at the way the undermesh shadowed on the skin. That was so cool.
no subject
She ran out to where she knew she had been and stopped as she saw herself, standing out in public, her chest and stomach exposed completely inappropriately. She felt the heat gathering on her cheeks as she ran over.
"Naruto-kun," she said in the boy's high voice. "What are you doing?"
no subject
"Hinata-nee, you have the most awesome body ever!"
He bounced on his heels and looked from the way that made everything jiggle to her, then back again. "Older me is soooo lucky!"
no subject
She marched up to him until she was standing in front of her body, her face so very red and took the jacket from him.
"Put this back on, please!" she pleaded. "I thank you for the compliment, but please put my jacket back on."
no subject
"But why? It's all overly warm with it on. It's nice!"
It took a beat before he realized she was mad at him, and his expression crumpled."Are you mad at me?"
no subject
She looked up at him with sad blue eyes. "I'm not mad, Naruto-kun. I...The parts of me that you are showing off make me uncomfortable. Only the older you is allowed to see me in such a state of undress."
Okay, so she was blushing again with that admission. "It is not right to show others something they may not have, yes?"
no subject
"I wasn't trying to be mean!" He sniffled and pulled her into a hug, crushing her to his chest. Yep, not used to that strength at all.
no subject
She spluttered as he nearly suffocated her in her own breasts. She managed to turn her head to the side and sucked in a deep breath. "It's okay, Naruto-kun," she whispered, the heavy jacket dangling in her tiny hand.
no subject
He giggled at the squirming and eased the hold. "That tickles!"
no subject
She sighed in relief and held up the jacket. "I didn't mean to do that, but will you please put this back on before someone comes outside?"
no subject
He looked very might like he was gearing up to argue. "How about we just go inside. It's hot in that coat!"
no subject
"Fine," she said between clenched teeth. She was tempted to take the shirt she wore off to show his own marks to the world, but she couldn't bring herself to do something so childish. "How about you put it on, but don't zip it up. Then, we can go somewhere until this...whatever it is....is over with?"
Yes, reasonable was the way to go. Otherwise, she'd start crying again and that wasn't going to help anything.
no subject
He huffed and shrugged it on, then headed for the house. "S'just skin."
no subject
How did she explain it to this boy about what was appropriate, what would embarrass the clan's name and good standing with just one act. Especially since Naruto hadn't grown up with a family.
"Naruto-kun," she said softly, "I-it's not just about showing too much skin. It is about what others will think if you show that much to the world. I-it's not the same for girls as it is for boys."
no subject
"Girls show way more in swimsuits!" He didn't slow down, pushing inside and heading for the second floor, barely pausing to get his shoes off in the doorway.
no subject
She had to hurry up after the boy, inwardly cursing the fact that his legs were so small. She took off his shoes and put them neatly by the door before chasing after Naruto.
"I don't wear things like that," she replied.
no subject
"You never swim? That's horrible."
He continued right into the linen closet, yanked some things off the shelf and sat himself in the middle of it. "I'm taking a nap."
no subject
She caught up to him as he pulled things out of the closet and looked at him. "In the closet? Wouldn't you be happier in a bed?"
However, that didn't stop her from joining him.
no subject
"Nope."
Then again, the closet was huge, lined with shelves but cozy enough it could easily have fit a side by side pair of futons as he piled things up to curl up in. Then he pulled one over him. "Good night."
no subject
Well, this wasn't exactly how she imagined spending her morning, but it wasn't a bad idea for their current situation. At least here, no one would see the way that Naruto-kun had exposed her body inappropriately, and, well, it was time with the youngest Naruto.
"Good night," she replied, curling up next to the little boy in her body, closing her eyes and relaxing her mind so that she was in a meditative state. It wasn't the deep sleep he had already fallen into, but it would be restful enough.
