It wasn't a bad sort of place. Lots of things to do and people to see. Plenty of freedom to dart over the rooftops and down the alleys--or out of the village and into the woods and rocky wild places beyond. Obito liked Michi no Sato.

He had stopped for lunch and was eating at a table outside the restaurant, watching people walk past. The food was good. The cold breeze was nice. Ah, yes. Years and years trapped in a cave with a crazy old man and a bunch of plant monsters--it had left him really able to appreciate the little things.

[ooc: here is an AU Obito in his twenties. Got through the time with Madara, and Rin's death, but didn't go completely evil after all of it...]

She knows not to mess with that tone, though her lips twist at hearing it used. It's enough to make her drop the topic, a little unhappily, before answering their question.

"Oh, that...? Well, if you know Lee, I'm sure you know how he dresses, right? Him and Gai-sensei?" She can't help but snort quietly through her nose, tilting her head to glance at her lover. "I'm glad you don't wear something like that. I would have to take it off for you~"

"That's hardly incentive to not wear it Tenten. That's just incentive to not wear it -long-." He flashed her an amused little smirk as he tied off her hair. "But no, I have no intention of ever putting on green spandex." He looked back to Obito. "Maito Gai, if he dressed like he does now as a child, is what you should be envisioning."

Now that makes him laugh. Their banter as well as imagining the outfit. And remembering Maito Guy, sweet mercy...

"Maybe black spandex," he speculated.

"No spandex," she's quick to correct, her hand able to come back enough to smack lightly against Itachi's thigh with a frown. "Sure I'd take it off, but you wouldn't enjoy it, trust me."

But hearing about her teacher as a child is enough to perk her interest, and she just tilts her head back, inviting Itachi's fingers to run through her bangs as she tries to catch sight of the other man. "You knew Gai-sensei?"

"He -is- the same age as Kakashi and Gai." It was an amused murmur as he looked down at her, taking the offer as meant and finger combing her hair.

"Also, do you really think it's even possible to manage unpleasant with me Tenten?"

[mooneye]

"Yeah." He nodded. "We were all the same year. Me, Kakashi, Ri... all the others. Gai, Ebisu. Kurenai and Asuma." He paused, smirking just a little. "Gai-sensei," he repeated, like he was trying out the way that sounded.

Not appreciating feeling like the youngest one in the room, she starts to frown, but the lure of hearing about him from someone other than, well, him is too strong.

"They're all sensei, now," she says after a moment's pause, eyes falling closed under Itachi's fingers. "Gai-sensei has been mine for the past four... maybe five years now."

[youngesthokage]

"My sensei was a yearmate of yours too Obito-nii." He turned to look at him with an amused noise. "Got old did you? I'm just seventeen, but you? You're at least mid-twenties, aren't you?"

[mooneye]

"Yeah. Same age as all the rest of those old loser." He laughed. And more thoughtfully, turning to Tenten. "I liked him. And not just because he gave Kakashi such a hard time. He had a kind heart, back then."

[bunsofsteel]

...Somehow, she feels like she should defend Gai-sensei as being something other than an older loser, but she can't quite bring herself to refute that, instead laughing quietly. "Gai-sensei is a great man," she murmurs finally. "...I miss him."

[youngesthokage]

"They might yet show up here. After all, if even half the people I've seen are an indicator, it's possible." He shook his head slightly and petted her cheek. "As for you." He looked over at Obito. "No more playing dead, hear me?"

[mooneye]

Obito holds a hand up as if surrendering. "Only alive from now on. Old, but alive."

[bunsofsteel]

She frowns at being patted like some kind of pet and lifts her head, turning to fully face both of them. "You don't look as old as Gai-sensei."

He blinked and peered down at her, moving his hand down to her shoulder. "Neither does Kakashi. Gai just didn't age well I think."

[mooneye]

"I don't know that there was any aging involved, badly or otherwise. Gai has had... that face... since he was about ten."

[bunsofsteel]

She laughs again, resting her chin on the back of her chair. "Now that, I can believe. Was he screaming about the 'Power of Youth' back then, too?" Tilting her head, she just gently brushes her lips over Itachi's wrist before glancing up at the other.

"I know he started it young." He shook his head, looking to Obito for confirmation. "Though he's been calmer since he got you three from what I can tell."

[mooneye]

He nodded. "He was always energetic. And on about the whole Youth thing, yeah."

[bunsofsteel]

"Calmer?" That's a frightening thought. She sighs and shakes her head, eyes wide, then tilts her head just enough to rest against Itachi's wrist. "Sorry, you guys probably want to talk about your own thing, right? I interrupted again."

He blinked down at her. "Well... a lot of what I was talking about was you and Sasuke."

[mooneye]

"Just so. And I'm glad to know all about you three kids."

[bunsofsteel]

She frowns at being called a kid, puffing one cheek out in annoyance. "Geezer," she retorts, eyes sparkling with amusement even so. Glancing to Itachi, she raises an eyebrow with a small flush. "Both of us, huh? What'd you tell him, that Sasuke's kind of a brat and I'm the prettiest one in the house?"

"I told him you were beautiful and that Sasuke is stubborn enough that I had to punch him in the head."

[mooneye]

He gazed back at her just as playfully. And smirked, hearing Itachi summarize their previous conversation. "All the little joys of domestic life."

[bunsofsteel]

"So you left out the part where I had to punch him, too?" She's about to smirk, but the word domestic derails her train of thought and leaves her flushing again. "I don't know if I'd call it domestic. There's too many sharp pointy things around, and I'm just waiting for Sasuke to burn part of the house down."
