Preparing for the festival.

He had a neat pile next to him on the counter, black and silver leather rabbit god mask at the very top. It was a bit morbid, the story of that, but it seemed like everything about this festival was morbid, so that was actually appropriate, in a way. He had the pale off white and frost blue kimono pulled most of the way up his shoulders, and he turned carefully one way, then the other as he examined himself in the mirror.

The reason? He was playing around with Oiroke, but he was doing it behind a closed door in the bathroom, and he sincerely hoped no one came to see what was taking him so long. He was just... curious. After all, he'd never spent much time in the shape and he had a memory of doing so.

Still, did it really change so little about his appearance?

Tenten had never really been one for sneaking around their house. After all, they were all comfortable enough with each other that walking in on the other naked would... probably just mean there being at least two naked people instead of just one. Thus, she doesn't bother to knock as she barges into the bathroom to look for more hairpins, a file dangling from her teeth and one bun undone around her shoulders.

She lets the file drop into her hand to be set on the counter when she spots her lover, though, and immediately lunges forward to wrap her arms around his waist and press her lips to one partially-bared shoulder. "Evening, Itachi-sama~" she purrs against his skin, though her lips start to curve into a frown as she squeezes him tighter. Hold on, something feels strange when she squeezes him. "Are you wearing something weird under this?"

He went tense in her grip. He had gotten comfortable enough with them both that neither being nearby set him on guard. He immediately colored at the question. "...No, just, give me a second. I was... doing something."

He moved to pry her off.

"Doing what?" She doesn't let him pry her off that easily, resting her chin on his shoulder and glancing up toward his face. "Your voice is pretty weird, too, you know... Are you getting sick?"

"No." He halted that and decided to just release the jutsu, bringing his hands up with intent to do just that.

Oh no, what kind of jutsu was he up to? Immediately she grabs both of his wrists and nips down on his collarbone. "Hey, are you practicing new jutsu without me? Is it another genjutsu?" She twines one hand's fingers in her own and moves to stand across from him. And then pause. Pause for a very long moment as she stares.

He didn't look directly back at her, embarrassed to have been caught at it. "Just... give me a second to release the jutsu." It was a murmur as he tugged on his trapped hand.

Her free hand comes up as if it might try to touch his chest, but pauses halfway there as she stares, mouth half-open as she tries to figure out just what kind of expression to make. "Genjutsu?" she manages finally, reaching out to poke the center of his chest, just below the hollow of his throat.

He shook his head immediately, giving another tug at his trapped hand to see if she was ready to let go. "Naruto's undocumented kinjutsu actually. Oiroke."

"Oiroke?" Her cheeks go a little pink, but she still shows no signs of letting go of his hand, instead poking him a little roughly again. "From Naruto? Hang on." Her face goes darker. "Does that mean the Naruto with Neji is actually--?!"

"There's a Naruto with Neji?" He blinked. "While this jutsu is ah... Hyuuga resistant, I've never seen Naruto use it for anything longer term than shock value in battle. Or outside battle. And never with clothes so if you're talking about a female Naruto... it just might be a female Naruto."

"Neji's girlfriend is a girl-Naruto," she points out matter-of-factly, more absorbed by looking over Itachi than thinking about that. "You should see him sputter when you say that." She pokes again, fingertips rubbing his skin. "This is weird..." Unabashedly, she then reaches up to pet fingers along his face, feeling the subtle differences in facial structure.

"...You're not going to let me release the jutsu are you?" He finally looked back at her properly, watching her through his lashes.

"Not yet, I'm looking." Her brows are furrowed as she continues to pet over his cheekbones, then trail her fingers down the center of his chest, though she stops before getting too close to the already-low hem of the kimono. "How come this jutsu, though?"

"I... had a memory of being stuck like this, but I never got a chance to look at myself so I decided to." He shifted a little.

"Right, you mentioned something like that once..." She huffs a soft laugh, still looking over his body. "You look prettier than me~"

He shook his head a little. "I tried to change as little as possible."

She rolls her eyes and only slowly lets his hand go, wanting to use both hands to trail up and down his arms and over the top of his chest, curious. "You're always the prettiest one in the house, Itachi-sama~"

He had no idea how to react to that and shivered a little, watching her hands for a moment, but letting his hand drop back to hold his kimono since it wasn't exactly angled to stay -on- unsupported at the moment.

She can't help but let out a small sound of amusement, taking both edges of his kimono near his shoulders and raising an eyebrow. "You're doing it wrong, Itachi-sama," she murmurs with another small grin, quick, delicate touches resettling the fabric in place as she reaches around, shifting the tie of the obi just so, letting the cloth part to only reveal the smallest swell of his -- and then she can't help but stare, not used to seeing something like that on him, but she continues until it settles almost perfectly against his form. Not nearly like a traditional kimono should be worn, but it seemed to be the effect he was going for, just now he didn't have to hold it~

"It's been several years since I dressed as a girl, thank you, and at the time I wasn't an age to be going for any -effects-, thank you." He shifted slightly, cautiously releasing the material. "I didn't intend to stay in this shape very long."

She takes a step back to survey her handiwork, though her gaze keeps catching on the differences -- admittedly smaller than she might have expected. "How come you're in it in the first place?"

"I told you... I wanted to get a better look at it." He shifted a little on his feet. He really was a slender figure, and his fingers were fidgeting at the sleeves.

"What're you fidgeting for?" She raises an eyebrow and pokes the center of his chest again.

"I feel like it's about to slide off me." He gave him a wry smile.

"That's part of the point of wearing it like this~" She gives him another smirk and takes a step back. "Want to show Sasuke how pretty you look, Itachi-sama~?"
