The lure of sleeping in after the night before had been intense, and thus it was more than understandable that when the other two went off to tend to things like sparring and shopping, Itachi had instead burrowed himself more deeply under the covers. He would get to these things, yes, but he was just... sleepy.

Though, he would freely admit that perhaps part of it was motivated by the fact he really just wanted to see if anyone would -let- him sleep in.

(OOC: Not just for his housemates. Those willing to come drag him out of bed who know where he lives are welcome too. Even if just by way of banging on the door.)

He certainly wouldn't be allowed to sleep in after the kind of day Tenten had had. It had taken her nearly half an hour to calm down to something like her normal composure after speaking with that Itachi, and she needed answers. She doesn't bother to knock, merely deposits her scroll near the door and stalks to their bedroom, yanking the door open with a clatter.

...Though the sight of her lover burrowed into those covers was too sweet to question at first, and she merely leans there against the jamb to watch him for a moment.

"You look comfortable."

He cracked open an eye as he shoved the blankets down slightly to peer past them. "I am, yes."

More than anything, she just wants to join him under the covers and forget the whole thing had even happened, but... that was impossible. Instead, she just crosses her arms and glances to him. "I talked to another you today."

He gave a slow blink, pushing himself up on an elbow. "Okay... you look fine so it clearly didn't come to a fight."

"No. I wouldn't have been able to beat him, anyway." She crosses her arms more tightly, fingernails digging into her biceps, then moves forward to tug at the blankets, meaning to join him underneath. "You wouldn't lie to me, right?"

He released the blankets without a fight. "I have no intention of doing so or starting to, yes."

She hesitates only a moment before slipping beneath the covers, shifting in to press herself completely against him and tug at his elbow to get him to lay back down, burying her face in his shoulder. "...Are you sick?"

[youngesthokage]

He blinked at her, bewildered. "No?"

"Are you sure?" she persists, lowering her head to instead press an ear against his chest, holding him tight. "Have you ever been seriously ill?"

He petted her head, utterly lost. "When I was a small child I tired extremely easily, but I've been fine since I started jutsu training. I've never had any tests come back anything but clean."

"When's the last time you got a test?" She keeps her eyes shut as she rests against him, taking comfort in the sound of his heartbeat and the rise and fall of his chest.

"A few months ago." He petted her hair, peering at her.

"And you're sure?" she repeats, opening her eyes and propping herself up on an elbow to look at him, face completely serious.

So bewildered, he just stared at her. "Why are you so -worried-?"

She swallows hard and glances at him, biting her own lip for a moment. "He was sick. I don't mean like, a cold sick, I mean dying sick. Something he developed."

He was quiet a moment, then sighed. "I don't know of anything wrong. Perhaps it was something that happened after going missing nin?"

[bunsofsteel]

She only shakes her head, pressing her nose against his chest and closing her eyes again, a hand combing up to tangle gently in his hair. "I don't know... he said it was something that developed when he was a teen, then it went away, and only recently has gotten worse. Did that happen to you...?"

[youngesthokage]

"No... nothing like that so far as I'm aware. The worst I've had is a cold or two." He shook his head, petting his hand down her back.

[bunsofsteel]

She just tilts her head up to look at him, brow still furrowed in concern. "Are there any medics in this village? I'll find one, and I want you to go get checked out, okay?" Her hand tugs lightly in his hair to make sure she had his complete attention. "Okay?"

He made a little noise, and he bit his lip to stifle his -other- immediate reactions. He suspected they wouldn't be welcome just at the moment. "If you wish."

"I do wish!" She tugs at his hair again, a little more firmly this time, then wraps her arms around him and ducks her head into his shoulder to mumble, "If you get sick, then I only get to train with Sasuke. That'd cut my training in half, you know."

[youngesthokage]

He shivered at the tug, but lifted his arms to wrap them around her. "I don't intend to make myself ill."

[bunsofsteel]

She knows that shiver, and almost immediately pulls back enough to jab a finger hard into his chest. "I'm serious! I don't think he intended it, either!"

He squirmed, just a little, and nodded his head, hands sliding to her sides. "Of course."

"You're not even listening, are you?" She bites back a growl and shifts up onto one elbow, jabbing again. "I'm going to go find a medic."
