It's just that kind of day.

The lure of sleeping in after the night before had been intense, and thus it was more than understandable that when the other two went off to tend to things like sparring and shopping, Itachi had instead burrowed himself more deeply under the covers. He would get to these things, yes, but he was just... sleepy.

Though, he would freely admit that perhaps part of it was motivated by the fact he really just wanted to see if anyone would -let- him sleep in.

(OOC: Not just for his housemates. Those willing to come drag him out of bed who know where he lives are welcome too. Even if just by way of banging on the door.)

She just tilts her head up to look at him, brow still furrowed in concern. "Are there any medics in this village? I'll find one, and I want you to go get checked out, okay?" Her hand tugs lightly in his hair to make sure she had his complete attention. "Okay?"

He made a little noise, and he bit his lip to stifle his -other- immediate reactions. He suspected they wouldn't be welcome just at the moment. "If you wish."

"I do wish!" She tugs at his hair again, a little more firmly this time, then wraps her arms around him and ducks her head into his shoulder to mumble, "If you get sick, then I only get to train with Sasuke. That'd cut my training in half, you know."

He shivered at the tug, but lifted his arms to wrap them around her. "I don't intend to make myself ill."

She knows that shiver, and almost immediately pulls back enough to jab a finger hard into his chest. "I'm serious! I don't think he intended it, either!"

He squirmed, just a little, and nodded his head, hands sliding to her sides. "Of course."

"You're not even listening, are you?" She bites back a growl and shifts up onto one elbow, jabbing again. "I'm going to go find a medic."

He promptly slid his hands back around her back. "I'm listening, I promise, but unless you've seen a proper medic around, the only thing in town is an herbalist, and he's not exactly someone who would pick up on deep subtle problems if there were any."

Her face scrunches up in indignation. "W-well... Sakura was studying healing under Tsunade-sama. Maybe she's here! Or Ino, or... even Tsunade-sama herself! I won't know until I look!" This time, she reaches out and flicks his nose. That would make him pay attention! "And even still, a herbalist might be able to, you never know!"

He made a little noise and peer at her fingers. "I'm not stopping you from looking, but must you right this second?"

She sighs through her nose and stays up on her elbow for a moment as if seriously considering going right now, then just flops to the futon and draws the covers up. "Not right now, no," she grumbles.

He turned his head to follow her motion, then hummed. "Was that all the scolding you had in you then?"

She frowns and flicks his nose again. "You're teasing me now."

[youngesthokage]

He leaned up and nuzzled into her palm. "Well, I would have preferred it if it was something I either deserved or could do something about, but the approach was nice."

She can't help it; she looses a bit of the severe frown at the cuteness of the gesture, her fingers curling in against his skin before she leans forward to press a gentle kiss to his cheek. "You can do something about it, as soon as I find a medic. Promise me you will."

A pause as she blinks at him, finally catching up. "Wait, what approach?"

"I promise as soon as we find a medic I'll let them check me for anything that might be wrong." He nuzzled her palm. "You were a bit forceful, that's all. While being rather clear I wasn't to be arguing with you."

"Well duh!" She jabs a finger against his chest, a little more lazily this time, but with no less force. "You shouldn't argue with me no matter what I say when it's about your health!"

He hummed a soft affirmative, eyes drifting to track her hand through his lashes. "Does that mean I should find things for you to scold me for?"

"No, why would you even...?!" She shakes her head and scoots back in close to nuzzle her way against his chest. "You're teasing me again."

He made a soft negative noise. "I just really liked your start when you decided to scold me." It was a low murmur and he trailed his fingers upher back.

In spite of herself, she feels herself starting to relax into his touch, eyes fluttering closed against him. "So you're saying you'd rather I be mean to you even when there's no reason?"

[youngesthokage]

"No..." He ran a fingertip up her spine, voice going low. "But while you're a bit rough with me, you don't tend to be very -forceful- about it. I think I've just realized the possible benefits of that."

Her cheeks flush a light pink as she keeps her face in against his chest. "I though Sasuke was the forceful one?"

"True." He brushed his fingers up and traced along her ear. "If you like I won't mention it anymore."

She nuzzles her nose there against his chest and presses a soft kiss there. "I only want to make you happy," she murmurs, remembering what the child had said. "Just tell me what you want, and I'll do it."
