Getting settled
This village was.... interesting. Not in a bad way, exactly, even though it didn't look like home, but this place was better than the last one he'd found himself in. He'd claimed a house a bit up the cliff face, where he could look out over the village, and he was sure eventually he wouldn't be the only inhabitant.
After all, this place seemed as baffling as the last. But, he was sure, he'd still get found by the ones who mattered eventually.
Thus, he settled himself under a tree, back leaned against it, as he nibbled some local dango.
(OOC: Alrighty! Itachi has been here a while and has made a little niche for himself. For those who know him from other places, he will know you too! Sub-note: if you have an AU with him feel free to pick it up here on his post.)

There was really only one person in their family with enough chakra to truly pull that feat off... and he wasn't even ready for the 'Where do babies come from?' lesson. Well, Sasuke might also be able to, but he couldn't imagine him wanting to.
"And an even number is best." he added. "You understand."

The calm serenity of their afternoon was shattered by a loud, panicked scream.

The scream was definitely Minoru's, and coming from just beyond the forest to the edge of a mountain cliff. As they cleared the trees, Minoru could be heard, but he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, a massive black bear was furiously slashing over the edge. A trail of blood followed the creature. Whether it was the bear's or Minoru's, though, was still to be determined.

When the kunai hit the animal, it turned its head. It's face was scratched and bleeding. Wounds caused by shuriken no-doubt.
"Get the bear! I'll get Minoru!" Itachi shouted, carefully circling around. "Isamu, hold onto me, keep quiet and don't let go."

Itachi didn't hesitate to go after the bear, determined to draw its attention aware from his little boy. It was, after all, his first priority.

Itachi, meanwhile, was silently approaching the side of the cliff. Thankfully, he was able to catch a glimpse of his younger son, clinging to the rocks just out of the bear's reach. It was hard for Itachi to tell, but he looked merely to be disheveled. His chakra was flaring, but he didn't seem to be hurt.

"Minoru, grab on."
The boy immediately looked up, and scrambled on the rocks as best he could. He leapt for Itachi's arm, and clawed at his sleeve with everything he had. Itachi hardly had to pull his son up. His son was doing most the work for him.
The bear, though, was now charging the Hokage.

"And I'm sorry I was throwing shuriken at the trees trying to hit the fruit like Mama said and I heard something in the brush and I threw one at what I heard like maybe it was a rabbit or a kitty or something that would move and then this huge thing just came at me and I ran and I tripped and it kept chasing me and I almost ran over the cliff and I didn't have nowhere to go so I tried to go down and it tried to hit me and I screamed and it scratched me and I ducked and I screamed and then you came and then Mama and I'm sorry!!"
"It's all right, it's all right, Minoru. It's over now."

Itachi moved over and hugged everyone. "You're alright, you're all alright, thank kami."
no subject
"We're all fine." Itachi added, putting his hand on the Hokage's arm.
The blood must have been from the wounded bear, because none of the scratches were deep. They'd still need to be properly cleaned, though, and disinfected.
"Did you lead the bear far enough away?"

Still, he ushered them all inside.

"Um... Mama?" he tugged on Itachi's hand. "I kinda lost your shuriken..."
"I have a lot more, don't worry about that." he poked his son in the forehead. "I'm just glad you're all right..."
