[OPEN~] Bollocks
Liuetenant Colonel Uchiha Shisui isn't sure what hit him, but the last thing he was staring at was the tail end of Group Captain Uchiha Itachi's Typhoon F2 (which was a pretty neat beauty, by the way) and then he had glanced down to sneak a peek at the Bermuda Triangle they were flying over. He had just joked about getting sucked into the Triangle and had been in the middle of a ghost story when this happened.
Except he doesn't know what this is.
His baby's down and she's burning, and Shisui scrambles to grab his canteen before she literally explodes.
With the explosion right behind him and just managing to escape, Shisui dives behind a rock to shield himself from the debris and choking air. And yet, amidst all this, he feels the urge to keep himself calm and sane by reaching over to his canteen and unscrewing the cap for a swig of bourbon.
Except, you know, it's drier than the Sahara in there.
He stares down into the empty vessel and clicks his tongue, tasting soot and dirt. "...This isn't even vaguely American, but I'm thinking it's relevant. BOLLOCKS!" What's the worst that could happen, though?
Hm. ...How about standing in unknown territory? No, really. Where was he?

Hm. ...How about standing in unknown territory? No, really. Where was he?
You have made me so happy.
The voice though! Even with the odd inflections there was no missing that voice, and he found his breath catching in absolute shock before he moved to get a better look, dressed in his typical mesh and overshirt, unlike the odd attire on the figure before him.
There was no mistake though. "Shisui?"
rofl
Wait a minute.
"...The hell are you wearing?" As if the ponytail wasn't breaking enough safety protocol.
You're the first Shisui I've gotten to bounce him off, I care not how AU he is!
he is so very AU... and old-ish
He's bleeding off his left ear, though, so he's rather deaf at the moment, managing to read the other's lips as well as strain to hear him say anything at all. "I dunno, you tell me. Where's your F2?" Shisui knows this isn't the Itachi he knows, especially not with that accent. Bringing his knees up closer to his chest, Shisui's free hand closes in around the grip of his M9, thumb moving quietly to unlock his weapon as silently as he possibly could. The racket behind them certainly helped mask the sounds of any metal clicking against metal.
Haha, hey, Itachi's Shisui has been dead for ages. He's happy to see one.
He tilted his head to the side, a slightly sad smile on his lips. "It's very good to see you alive Shisui, even if you're clearly not from my timeline. I could stop the bleeding for you, if you'd allow me close enough?"
no subject
He kind of wished he could hallucinate his bourbon back into his canteen, though.
"Fair enough." --Though, he didn't lock his weapon. He was also trying not to laugh at how this was all starting to sound like an episode from Doctor Who. "You're telling me you were flying TARDIS over the Triangle?" Alright, he is chuckling. And woah, Shisui never realized he was bleeding. "I'm bleeding?"
'Where' would have been the next question, except that Shisui decided to forego it and look for injuries himself.
no subject
He carefully knelt, reaching one hand to the side of his face as he stayed cautious for retaliation. "And what are these items you're referencing? I am getting the sense your timeline is even more disparate than mine is from the primary one and I'm the only one I've met under my circumstances."
no subject
And Shisui did retaliate in one swift motion just as the 'fake' Itachi almost touched his face. There was a sharp blade held up beneath the other's chin near his trachea, not pressing into skin just yet but just-- there. Shisui didn't need a blade to sever a man's head - he could do it with his fingers - but this was just for precautionary measures. "It was just an explosion. I'll be fine."
Shisui does not take his eyes off the other man for a moment, the fact that he'd been given a somewhat sad smile at all only a moment ago still eating at his conscience and playing with his current state of mind. Where was the real Itachi?! "I'm talking about things the real Itachi would know. And you're not him. I'm not buying your bullshit about overlapping timelines, either." At least, not without substantial proof that it is so-- but he keeps that to himself. "So what's the name of the fancy drug you've got pumping through your prisoners of war, huh?"
He'd love to know.
no subject
"I still can't say I like the sight of you bleeding from the ears though. Better than watching you die, I'll admit, but still far from pleasant. Would you at least allow me to halt that before we continue this conversation? We can fight after if you truly wish to. I'm curious to see if you're as fast as you were in my timeline."
no subject
And wait, what? Watching him die? So it was a threat. Or, TARDIS was real. The lack of response, however, was probably Shisui's way of telling the other that it was okay to check his ears as long as he wasn't going to put a bullet in them. It didn't look like this version of Itachi carried a gun, though.
Shisui raises an eyebrow at what he makes out with the lip reading. "We're supposed to be on the same team. We don't fight." A beat. "We bicker." Like an old married couple, but you didn't hear him say that~
no subject
He pulled his hand back when he was sure there was no fresh blood coming from him anywhere. "What I meant about the hostility is that I'm not Hokage in the most common timeline so my people tend to prefer to attack me instead of talking. It does get old after a while, I'll admit."
no subject
...He just needs to figure out where he is first in order to get back to whatever was left of his mission.
What makes him grit his teeth and press the edge of the blade further against the other's skin, however, was the fact that something weird was going on with regards to this whole healing thing. He didn't want to admit it, but it almost felt like magic-- and Shisui knew that magic wasn't real. There was always logic behind hocus pocus. Which is why he was already getting to his feet and attempting to put some distance between them, knife drawn and at the ready.
His hearing had vaguely improved, though, and he managed to catch the word 'Hokage', which makes him wince in confusion. "Yeah okay, I have no idea what you just said or what a Hokage is supposed to be-- and frankly? I don't care. Just-- Who are you and what the hell do you want with me?" A beat. "And do you happen to have anything... alcoholic but also consumable... maybe?" Hm.
no subject
He was fairly certain, from the look he was getting, that he needed to explain a bit more clearly and assume the man knew nothing about anything, even if he -did- seem to recognize him. Perhaps he was a civilian trained person from a nin-shinobi village in his timeline?
But he would still know what a Hokage was, even then. "A Hokage is one of the five Kages of the Elemental countries. There are dozens of Shinobi Villages, of course, but only a handful are powerful enough to boast being strong enough warrant having a Kage. I am essentially the military commander of my country where the Diamyo is the civilian leader in all matters outside Shinobi affairs."
The man needed the information, whether he wanted it or not, especially -here-. "I am Uchiha Itachi, seventeen year old Hokage of Konohagakure. In my timeline. Such is not the case in most. As for you... In my timeline I helped you with your suicide at thirteen as one of your eyes had already been stolen and you wished to better aid me in dealing with the politics I ended up right in the middle of by giving me your death. It did not work quite as you hoped, but ultimately it has been useful to me, though I wish that such measures had never been needed as you were my best friend and you have been deeply missed in the last four years."
There was a pause then, and he flushed just a bit. "...I should never have alcohol, and recent events were kind enough to reinforce this point, I apologize."
no subject
But Shisui listened, with growing amusement and vexation-- and this was not just because he was hard of hearing at the moment. He was reading the other's lips and he heard what little he could hear, but seriously? He tried to stay calm, but the way his lips were set in a thin, hard line, and the way those obsidian eyes fixed on the other's probably gave it all away.
The mention of suicide made him almost flinch at recent memories where he had almost thrown himself in the middle of a raging conflict that would have sealed his fate. And all this had been because he had heard that Itachi's team had been gunned down elsewhere on one of the RAF's missions. He wasn't conscious of the way his free hand pressed over the pocket just over the left of his chest at the memory, though; the one that held that one very precious photograph he hung up on the windshield whenever he flew. And right now he was missing the person in that picture... He was missing him a whole lot.
At the end of the explanation, though, Shisui finally spoke, wiping away soot from his face with the back of his sleeve. "Sorry about your friend, but I'm not who you think I am, and it would be much appreciated if you stop trying to tell me what my life's been like-- when it hasn't been anything like that at all." And as for introductions: "I am Lieutenant Colonel Uchiha Shisui of the United States Air Force, and the only Uchiha Itachi I know is Group Captain Uchiha Itachi of Great Britain's Royal Air Force. We met five years ago, and-- he can hold in quite a bit of alcohol."
Over to the East, however, Shisui spots a town. "Well. I guess if you don't have any good stuff on you, I better go out there and get some for myself. Do you guys accept American Dollars? I have a few English pennies too, though."
no subject
His lips quirked and he hitched a shoulder in a shrug as he pushed back to his feet. "A pleasure to meet you Shisui. This place, I should warn you, is far more like -my- home than yours, and if you are not actually a shinobi, well. Do not be stunned if many even younger than I give you dubious looks if you try to threaten them as you attempted to threaten me."
He waved down from the cliff. "I'll treat you if you can't actually use your currency, though you would be the first to have met trouble."
no subject
At the invitation, however, he shrugged, still suspicious, and opted to slide down and sit against the rock for a moment to try and adjust his pants leg instead, rolling it up and accidentally peeling a good chunk of skin along with it. "Whoops-a-daisy..." Shisui barely felt any pain at all, and he hadn't even flinched or noticed his leg until he saw the pink and blood and fluid seeping out. Not feeling pain was definitely not a good thing under these circumstances...
no subject
He twisted the cap off, revealing a dense cream before he set the jar aside, all business as he moved to check the extent of the damage. My Shisui's talents were speed and illusion, not long distance decapitation. I leave things like that to the wind users in the village, thank you."
/crawls back on here >_> sorry, had to run around while I got legal docs sorted
Wait. Have a weird look, because now you've got him thinking along the lines of c-r-a-z-y, Itachi. "Not that it's something normal people would recall." He is very normal, thank you very much.
"Speed and illusions, hm? I don't know about illusions, but my baby's the fast one." He looks to the burning wreckage in the distance. "Miss her already."
And Shisui is totally walking on ahead. "No more hocus pocus. Got a real doctor around here somewhere? And I'm thirsty."
No worries, life happens!
He collected his things, moved after him, and grabbed the back of his shirt. "Sit. You're getting burn cream on that before you get an infection to set in."
=D
"So... What's shinobi life like?" Was this shinobi land and were the natives shinobians? Did they speak shinobese? So many questions.
And woah there. You did not grab his shirt. This is Shisui almost getting that lightning fast tornado kick to meet Itachi's face, but then stopping short with his foot still in the air, debris having risen all over them and still settling even if he was as still as ever. How he managed to control himself enough to stop that kick from meeting the side of the other's head, he has no idea. But he does realize that he'd only been overreacting, and promptly brings his foot down, staggering a bit to overcome the inertia of that move. "Sorry-- Just. Don't do that without warning, yeah?" Reflexes. But still, if you were wondering about how fast he was, that was his beginner level...
But one look at that cream and Shisui is shaking his head vehemently. "Er nope, I'm good." It's pretty bad; he's afraid of fingers squishing their way through burned flesh. "Let's go get something to drink. I can pour it on there and everything will be sterile." Good plan?

He had let go of him though. "A shinobi life is one of battle, mostly, but there are always the oddball missions for the young ones like fence painting and babysitting. Precursers for bodyguarding and the like. I believe we're better known in civilian circles as ninja?"
(OOC: No worries, these things happen and I thought it might have been intentional ::coughs:: guess not. I've seen -that- Shisui before though! Never threaded with you before this though I think.)
no subject
And Shisui just-- Watch as he blinks and tries to comprehend what he's reading off your lips, Itachi. "You've got to be kidding me. Ninja? No frikkin' way!" Actually, he's rather excited by the prospect. "So do you have shuriken and poof off in a cloud of smoke and make clones of yourself?"
Shisui watches anime... We're off to a wonderful start here |8
ooc: That one is canon!Shisui XD All of 15/16 years old. I also play him blind, in the event that he faked his death and er-- never really died. That was redundant <.<' Played him at Niteo Nix for a bit :3
no subject
"I prefer kunai to shuriken. Sasuke is the one who is -truly- fond of straight shuriken but, well, swords. As for clones, yes, that's simple enough, if a bit draining. The 'poofing' as you put it, was your specialty, my you that is."

Flying above the Bermuda Triangle.
Without questioning his sanity he barrel rolled the jet out of his current flight path, and just as he was about to radio in to Mission Control he felt the sky shudder. At least, that was how it felt. The shift in air was enough to force the Typhoon into some kind of lockdown, and when the fighter jet began to curve into a spin it was his quick reflexes that levelled the thing out.
He could see smoke, and despite the desire to apply his logic and decide that there was a high chance it was from a crash he flew toward it. The issue rested with the number of trees surrounding the area, but luckily for Itachi some thirty feet away there was an incredibly convenient clearing.
It wasn't his best landing. He couldn't say he'd ever cut down trees after touchdown, but the damage to the wing wasn't bad enough that it caused a problem. No leaking tank-- not like Shisui's plane and-- Shisui.
His eyes widened, and he pulled off his helmet, pushing open the cockpit and jumping down immediately, making his way under the body of the jet toward the area he'd seen the smoke. "Shisui!?"
no subject
He was just a little too busy coming to terms with the fact that he'd crash landed at all before he began to wonder-- and then fear-- for what may have happened to Itachi. Holy shit, Itachi!!
Shisui would have stood up and run off to find the other, but that right there was a huge chunk of his door flying overhead and landing a few meters in front of him, flames licking whatever was left of it. He stared at the piece of burning metal for a long time before he vaguely picks up the sound of his name... and a very familiar voice.
Crawling from his sanctuary, Shisui peers over the edge of the rock and spots Itachi. Funny how the guy's uniform was all brand spanking new-looking while Shisui's was covered in soot. He wiped some of the black from his face, smearing residue all over it on accident. "Over here!" That right there was a broken canteen waving at you, Itachi. Not to mention, a very relieved looking Shisui.
"Everything jammed," he managed to rasp out, choking on painfully dry air. He staggered, obviously, left ear bleeding and his balance thrown off. If he was being louder than usual, it wasn't because he was mad or excited; he was just mostly deaf.
no subject
That simple call seemed to fill his lungs with air at about the same time all his fear drained from his chest. The fact that Shisui's potential demise had scared him so deeply was something he would analyse much, much later. For now, he had to ensure his partner was well enough to keep moving.
The plane was still burning whilst he ran around it toward that canteen in the sky - and he cast a look across to see what kind of state the right wing was in. Hm.
A quick jump over the rock Shisui had hidden behind and he ducked too, looking his friend up and down for any sign of injury and stopping at his face. "How did you escape?" He muttered, pulling both his gloves off and using one to wipe away at the blood seeping from Shisui's ear, the other hand reaching up to steady him at the shoulder.
no subject
He notes how Itachi is saying something, but has no idea what, because despite trying to read the other's lips, Itachi wasn't looking directly at him. "What did you say?!" But Itachi was looking him up for injuries and Shisui shook his head. "All in one piece, but I think my condoms melted." Because, you know, this is very important information... He reached into his pocket and pulled out the very melted remains of a strip of condoms as proof.
But the fact that Itachi was wiping at his ear caught his attention, and only then did he realize that he was just a little injured. "Crap, is my ear bleeding?" Shisui barely ever felt any pain at all, much to his disadvantage in this instance, because his left calf was blistered pretty bad under those fatigues that had somewhat torn through during his attempts to scramble out of his burning aircraft.
He reached out to grip the fabric of Itachi's fatigues from the front, steadying himself with the other's help before turning to ruefully eye whatever was left of his plane. "Fuck..."
no subject
His eyebrow arched when Shisui asked him to repeat what he'd said, aware by then of his ear. Hopefully it wouldn't be anything permanent. The blast must have been strong to inflict such an injury though. He was about to ask again, leaning back away from the man in time to hear that and-- "... Oh dear, the worst of our problems. What are we going to do." He muttered, rolling his eyes and taking in a deep breath.
"It's bleeding. It doesn't look too bad... but you're lip reading aren't you?" He asked, looking up again into his eyes and fixing him with a stare in the hopes he wouldn't lie but-- Shisui's attention had shifted. Right. The plane was 'far more important' than Shisui's very life.
"I want to check you over--"
no subject
"Probably something temporary. I had my eardrums ruptured before. Still ringing, though. My right works just a little better than the left." And yes, he was lip reading. He didn't really say anything to that, though, shifting his attention to the burning wreck in the distance, his heart sinking at the very sight.
But Itachi was asking to check him over, and Shisui turned his attention back to his partner. "I said I was fine." Just a little toasted and blistered~ "But sure. If it makes you feel better." He wondered, at the back of his mind, if Itachi would leave him here on his own if he was badly injured. As much as he would try to sound macho, that would break him...
no subject
"Hm." He muttered, looking up and taking a few moments to look from one of Shisui's eyes to the other. It wouldn't be the first time he'd seen someone suffer from barotrauma-- but Shisui's plane had just exploded he had to be sure. His fears were eased only slightly when he saw that look in those eyes, and with a quick look over his shoulder he shook his head... leaning in to press his lips against Shisui's temple briefly.
"I'll be the judge of that." He said, making sure to mouth the words clearly if Shisui was going to be lip reading. His hands stayed where they were, supporting Shisui whilst he took a step back, looking him over and frowning at the places where his fatigues had taken damage. This wasn't really the place to start stripping him, and he was sure he'd seen some kind of settlement. Perhaps to the East.
"Can you walk?" He asked finally. Even if he couldn't-- there was no way that Itachi would leave Shisui here. They were partners, and he never left a partner behind. The same faithfulness that had landed him here after following him.
no subject
Shisui knows Itachi's sighing. He knows he's using this opportunity to be mumbling all the things he'd dare not say in his presence had his hearing been intact. By now Shisui is scowling, trying to discern what on earth Itachi's saying about him. But that little press of lips eases the lines of that scowl into a little smile, albeit a sooty one. There's a reassuring squeeze to Itachi's elbow then. He's alright, and yes, he can walk.
"...Did you seriously think I got blown off to conveniently sit behind this rock while my baby went up in flames?" No, Itachi, he ran.
"Anyway-- where are we? Doesn't look like the Triangle to me." There weren't ghost ships for one...
no subject
It's good to see Shisui's scowl, and in turn to watch it fade as he smiled. There were only a few things he hated more than the Uchiha's unrest, and knowing that he was fine enough to have maintained his sensibilities and-- sensitivities was just about as reassuring as the squeeze to his elbow.
He let out another soft sigh at those words, although it was more out of sympathy for Shisui's 'baby'. There were crashes that some planes just didn't make it out of - but usually... they took their pilot with them.
"I have no idea." He said, with a shake of his head to make his point known, but he turned enough to point toward the settlement he'd noticed on their way down. "I think there's some kind of town over there... They might be able to enlighten us." The things was-- he was quickly beginning to wonder whether this was where everyone who had ever gone missing over the triangle had vanished. Another world, perhaps?
no subject
But Itachi was telling him something about a town nearby and Shisui had to strain to hear at all. "Yeah?" His gaze followed the direction in which Itachi was pointing to. "What if this was all planned and they're just waiting for us to walk right into their waiting arms?" It was highly unlikely, because if it were the case, then they already would have been accosted and gunned down, or taken prisoner.
But then again this was Shisui thinking along the same lines as Itachi. There is a look before he adds: "...You know there's this theory that those who got sucked into the Triangle woke up in a different world? What if we meet old World War soldiers....?"
If they met old WWI or WWII soldiers, they just might be attacked for looking Japanese...
no subject
His arm fell slightly when he heard that-- it had crossed his mind briefly, but it might just have been one of those things he was trying to ignore. A soft sigh, and he looked back down at Shisui - taking into consideration his potential injuries, the mobility he wouldn't have back for a few hours. Shisui was right though, of course. The potential for attack here was of course high, they just wouldn't know how high until they scoped out their potential 'enemies'.
"Another of your stories." He muttered softly, although there was no denying that what Shisui was saying could well be true. It had happened to them, why shouldn't it have happened to the scores of other people who had disappeared, never to be seen again.
"The crash was loud-- if we haven't already attracted attention, then they will notice eventually. Perhaps it's best to find some kind of shelter, scope out the area and decide whether the people here are approachable. If others really did end up here, we won't be the first. They'll have encountered people like this before."
no subject
"It could be true, you know. I mean, this doesn't look like Florida, Bermuda, or Puerto Rico at all, know what I mean?" It was too clean and too unpolluted to be either.
But Itachi was talking and from what he could gather, he was making plenty of sense-- like he usually did. "I guess." He glanced at those melted condoms mournfully before putting them back into his pocket. "Better get moving then, before someone comes running over amd arrests us for blowing up a few of their trees or something."
It was then that he bent down to adjust his pants leg, peeling the end off where it seemed to be stuck... and getting a layer of skin to come off as well, exposing a nasty lower calf. "Whoops."
no subject
"Then your little ghost stories held more truth than we suspected." He muttered, letting out a sigh whilst he drew the same sort of conclusions. It didn't feel like anywhere he'd been before.
He was about to start making headway on moving when he saw Shisui bend over, trying not to fret over why he felt the need to - he chose instead to speak up. "... You look more upset about the condoms than the aero-- shit." Instantly he crouched down, smoothing a hand down the back of Shisui's leg in a way that in any other moment would have been the start of something else.
"We have nothing to sterilize that with." He muttered, looking up at Shisui and frowning. "I can't leave it like that."
