Today felt like a magnificent day.

No, really, when ever had he started thinking like this? He felt so much lighter since that day, even with the knowledge of the future being as ludicrous as it was. He had, after all, another knowledge to counterbalance it.
After breakfast was an affair that was taken care of -oh, and he would need to buy bread once he got back home- he washed the plate and teacup he used and left them to dry before putting on his boots, coat and giving a light snicker as he wound and then tied his scarf, a few memories drifting by him.

And so, he went out of the now-still appartment, taking out the frowning dragon keychain and looking at it fondly for just a half-second before locking the door, pocketing the key and... nearly geting some sort of breacelet dropped on his head.

There was a blink as the trinket was kept from hitting the ground, a practiced hand swiftly picking it up in mid-air as he glanced up... and then his eyes widened in shock. So many birds, so many vivid colors. He couldn't help but stare, briefly mesmerized by the scene.
Then, there was the missive with the bracelet, which he unfloded to read... and the white eyes narrowed.

It was quite enticing, but also.... quite suspicious. The Hokage should already be aware of this, but in case he was not, and because he wished advice on what to do, there was nothing better but to ask him his advice, if he had any orders.
He picked up one more of the similar notes along with a seashell on his way to where Tenten had pointed him to the Hokage's dwelling.

"I don't want... to go back to my world..." his world not only had a future all laid out for him, it was also apart from hers...

She looked at him a moment, then buried her face in his shoulder. "Me, either..."

"I've met.... Naruto's mother, and as much as I understand how heroic actions happen when you wish to give your life for someone, I.. I just..." he shuddered. "I understand the concept, and how I could, if I must, but... it hurts to think I will leave... I... it scares me." he disliked thinking about the future he heard, because eh could never, ever accept it.

Here was freedom.. here... was Tenten.

Neji, admitting he was scared of something? She tightened her grip on him as if that alone could ensure that he would never disappear on her, go back...

"Then you won't," she murmured without lifting her face from his shoulder, clutching tightly at him. "Don't... don't even think about that, okay?"

"...I... did not wish to think about it either..." his voice was shaky, and he had to take a deep breath, and regretted it again. Darn lungs. "I wish with all my soul to stay here... by your side." he wished to defy fate, together with her.

She could only nod in agreement, holding onto him and swallowing hard, biting back tears at the thought. Going back would mean... going without him, and it just wouldn't be the same.

"How long before you recover...?" she asked once she trusted her voice not to shake, though she didn't lift her head.

"..hm.." he jolted his brain back to the now, and what did amtter. "I... believe Sakura-san stated I would need a check in the morning tomorrow to make sure everything is in the process of healing, and then.. well, no solids for a week I believe she mentionned." he grimaced. "...Hinata-sama... most likely had it worse..." he did recall her, at the finals... "I know she could have did much worse, if she wished..."

"Probably something other than tea then, huh...?" she murmured quietly, keeping her fingers in his hair. "Plain water would probably be better..."

Mixed feelings on Hinata though, really. She ignored it for now in favor of focusing on his health.

"I know technically the body only needs water to survive, but... there -are- other options, such as broth or--" he blinked and the frowned. "What ever do you mean by something other than tea? I disagree!"

She laughed a little quietly, keeping her nose buried in his shoulder. "You know, so you don't get dehydrated from the caffeine in tea. Just plain water, Neji~"

[your_destiny]

"Oh... Oh yes, I knew that. Plain water." he huffed lightly... and finally was able to give a tender smile, fingers into her hair again, giving gentle strokes. He had amde her laugh after tears. Mission accomplished.

She didn't see the smile, keeping her face tucked in his shoulder, though she mimicked the huff at his fingers in his hair. "You're going to mess up my hair, Neji-sama..."

"Hmhmm~ I very well may at this rate.... and what if I do?" he asked, purring.

"Then I'm going to be very annoyed with you, Neji-sama." She huffed again, though her lips curved into a smile as she glanced up at him. "You realize what this bedrest means for me coming over and spending time with you, don't you...?"

[your_destiny]

"Eh? I am not-- I mean.." he sighed. "I can cook, really. Besides, I am able to move around. I am quite certain what is left over of my wounds will be healed upon the fifth day from now. A 'week' is merely to be safe." he gave a shrug.

[ministeelbuns]

"Not what I meant." She pressed a quick kiss to the side of his neck before she finally sat up straighter in her chair, though her fingers didn't move away from his hair. "But you'll be careful, right? Don't push yourself too much..."

[your_destiny]

There was a light purr at that kiss. "I would ask when am I not careful.. but I suppose I did ahve this little incident, so it amkes it void... I do assure you I will do my best to heal promptly." he laimeda hand and laid a kiss onto her knuckle. "Besides, I will need to find work if I wish to be able to get through the next month.."

"It definitely does." She touched her fingers to his cheek and shook her head with a soft sigh. "If you need help making rent again, you know I'll pay for it. One of us has to be the responsible one, you know."

[your_destiny]

"Hmph. I will have you know I am... well... most of the times... responsible." he wasn't sure how true this was in the last week, at all... "...but I will admit I am at fault for provoking all this upon myself, and... I.. thank you again for offering assistance."

[ministeelbuns]

"Uh-huh." She just shook her head and smiled again, brushing her fingers through his hair again. "Well, we'll see what happens, okay? But if she punches you again, I'm going to break her. Understood?"

"..she..will not, because I most likely will not give hera raeson to." he murmured. "I did learn quite a valuable lesson, it seems." he tried to sit up, slightly annoyed at just lying there since forever.

Immediately she grabbed his shoulders and pushed him back down. "I hope you did learn something, but next time, try not to get beat up doing it? Seriously, you get beat up by Naruto, you learn something, you get beat up by Hinata, you learn something..."

"I did -not- get beat up by Naruto! I mean.." eh hissed. "I did, but it hasn't happened.. yet.. so.. hmph." that pride again. "...but yes, I -will- try and learn things without getting battered next time..." he sighed. "...and it seems I cannot even sit up, nurse Tenten's orders~" he mused.

"Yeah, my orders and Sakura-san's orders, so you'd better get used to it." She frowned at him, settling back in her chair. "Next time, you'd better take more care of yourself, okay...?"

"What do you mean more care? It makes me sound like I am quite neglectful and favoring things other than my own health. I have not... or at least not past this particular clash." he sighed. "...but..still.." he reached out to trace her lips witha finger. "Thank you for worrying. I will be watching out..."
