Practicing with the new weather... issue was an interesting thing to try to do. Especially given the water formations seemed especially prevalent on the outdoor training fields.

She didn't, however, hesitate to work with her elements, since if nothing else, she'd long since learned how to deal with Naruto, and it would be fun to finally be able to spring an appropriate reaction on him when he did a dousing jutsu to try to shortcut in their spars.

Unfortunately, it also meant that when she decided to take a break she was sopping wet, her clothes were half falling off, and she'd had to chase her sword across the field when one of the spouts had landed on her.

She was visibly thrown by his reaction, not hugging back, but not protesting either as she just... blinked at him. "I'm still coming to terms with... Niisan in general. But Naruto... I was so relieved when he got here. All the others are just... wrong. They don't know anything about anything."

"It's okay~ take your time. Niisan had his reasons, as much as I sorta wished it went another way, we... well, the Sasukes, got out of --"

He couldn't say it after all, and he hid the tremor that came over him at the resurfacing images by spinning on his heel and linking his arms behind his head. "Either way, here's a good place, for you two. I know how you feel too. Kinda like how no two Sasukes are alike, no two of that Naruto are either."

She stared at his back, then stepped forward and leaned on him, resting her forehead against the laced fingers of his hands. "I don't really have any strong desire to go home. Naruto's here, mom is here, father is here. Yes, I miss my teammate, since the Hinatas here are... all wrong, but three years without her makes that a lot less."

He gave a blink as he felt a light pressure against his fingers, and what was left of the memories raced out, a smile again upon his lips. He remained still, mostly, merely turning his head to look at what he could of her over his shoulder. "Now I know... exactly what mom felt... when she said she was glad I was happy." because he was glad this girl-her was happy too. "You'll have to introduce me to that Naruto~"

"Of course." There was a beat of pause, and a little humor entered her voice as she lifted her head without stepping back. "He's the one our age that doesn't wear neon. I refused."

"Menma likes those bright colors too.. or at least he did, till he got spotted in a tree from miles away. That, uh.. ahha, maaan did it go from bad to worse.." oh the fond memories of genin days. "He still refused my fashion advice though, even after that..."

"He's not bad with it when he lets go of the neon." Her tone was a bit wry. "Who do you think picked my clothes?"

He gave a chuckle and tilted his head back. "They are pretty~ Girl clothes really are just prettier than anything a guy can wear... but I might be biased, hmm?"

She gave a negligent shrug. "I make Naruto pick everything I wear, since he seems to care so much."

"Hmmmmm Probably wants you pretty" he purred. "Like you naturally aren't~"

"He didn't like me wearing all black or clan castoffs." She shook her head once turning her head to look at him. "I made it as difficult on him as possible though."

He gave a laugh and wore a grin that said it all, sparkling with pride. "Wouldn't have expected otherwise from girl-me!"

She hummed and arched an eyebrow. "And what do you think I did?"

"Told him you weren't wearing anything but black if he wasn't losing the orange stuff?" he would never forget the day they were found out.... orange within green is not the way to hide...

"That's actually exactly what happened... but I meant after that, to actually be difficult."

[konohasuperstar]

"Oh~ Now I'm curious. So what did happen? If somethin like that was to happen to me and I wanted to be difficult? Hmmm... turning down sex would be detrimental to both parties, so.. Oh, forbidding him to eat ramen?" If they were any alike, Menma without ramen would be oh so very sad an existence.

"If I did that he wouldn't let me at the tomato plants he grows." She scoffed softly. "Are you aware that Naruto is incredibly modest? Obviously not when using that jutsu of his, but the rest of the time."

[konohasuperstar]

"..that jutsu?" he blinked over, and the recalled that one jutsu he heard of that apparently Menma hadn't made up in his world. "Oh. Oh yeah, aside from that one. Menma's kinda... shy? I think cause I'm open enough for all the team put together. Sensei always liked my youthful, fiery drive~"

But that wasn't about any of this. "So uh.. what did you do then to be difficult...?"

A smirk touched her face. "I made him pick ALL my clothes."

Oh. Oh that... "Hahhaha!" oh he liked her. A lot. "You're awesome!" he gave her shoulder a light punch. "You really, really mean everything?" oh now he could just picture Menma looking though the panties aisle.

And that just had him rolling on the grass with laughter, its wetness be damned.

"I really do. Made sure he had to look at how it fit and the like too. He was so very mortified." She watched him, just a bit of amusement in her voice.

He was going to die laughing. "This is golden!!" he really, really was going to die laughing right then and there. He could picture the whole scene, and the expression on some Menma-clone's face.

She nudged him with her foot, amused herself. "You're going to be soaked if you don't get up you know."

[konohasuperstar]

"Too late, ahaha!" Yup, been there, done that. "Ohgod, gonna die!" He really couldn't get the image of her and that Menma-like guy shopping for panties and bras.

Then he pictured Hinata dragging him to do that... and he was just done for, unable to even form coherent speech inbetween laughs.

The nudge this time was closer to a light kick. "Come on, it's funny but not that funny."
