It's so pretty...

He was dressed up. Where his mother had managed to locate anything to dress him up with on such short notice with he had no idea, but it meant when he took off roaming he was a streak of dark blue and red amid those at the festival as he went here and there, utterly fascinated by the new sights.

He'd been to festivals in Konoha, yes, but those were different. This was -new-.

It also meant he wasn't exactly being the most attentive person ever, and had escaped the people he'd been with. Unintentionally, of course.

She, yet again, tries to change the subject:"H-How about we all go for a walk!? It's festival and there should be fireworks too dattebane," she smiles, although very nervous.

"...Dango?" He reached up and took her hand, then leaned and grabbed Neji's too.

...He had a suspicious feeling that he was going to wind up being the one paying for them again, but he just sighs through his nose and allows the younger boy to take his hand, grateful that he seemed to be distracted from that topic. "Very well. Because it is a festival, I will permit you to eat something sweet, but not too much."

She sighed in relief- it worked. Well- for the time being. She let Itachi lead her, she didn't mind, but she had to run up to them from time to time because of the wooden shoes. Somehow Mikoto managed to convince her to get dressed properly for festival and now she's making noise with those.

She smiles:"Dango sounds great dattebane!"

"Okay Neji-nii! What type of Dango do you like best Naruto-nee?" He towed them along without any difficulty.

Neji-nii... he had to admit, he rather liked the sound of it, informal as it was, and simply let the other tug him... though, he was guilty of sneaking a few glances toward Naruto, rather amazed by how nice she looked in something other than training-clothes. He wouldn't have thought a Naruto would know how to dress properly at all!

She grinned at Itachi:"Oh I love those colorful Hanami dango, dattebane! Or maybe we should get those Mitarashi ones? The syrup is so nice! A-aah! So many choices!"

If the shoes weren't slightly high, she would probably trip on the kimono. Not exactly used to wearing formal clothes. There was never need for it. She had sneaked few glances of her own at Neji. She wondered if this was good enough distraction for Itachi...

"Mitarashi! Hey, we can pick that place with tea so Neji-nii'll like something too."

A bit amused, he answers, "Most places that serve dango will have hot tea as well, do not fret." And he had noticed Naruto's glances, as subtle as she was trying to be about them... and he had to admit, he kind of liked the attention from her of all people.

"I want tea too dattebane!" she raised her hand as if she is in preschool. She didn't know why but she always gets so excited about these things.
Then she remembers:"Itachi, how come you are all alone on this festival, dattebane?"

He looked a little shifty at that. "I might've kinda not told anyone what I was going to go look at...?"

"Itachi-kun!" Exasperated, Neji turns his wrist to free his hand from the younger's grip and gives him a scowl, arms crossed over his chest. "Your mother is going to be worried about you if you didn't tell her where you were going. It doesn't matter if you're already a shinobi and can take care of yourself, it's similar to being on a team. It is common courtesy to inform those you are with where you are going."

Crap. She made trouble but... she kind of agreed with Neji... and kind of wanted to defend Itachi at the same time. Since she did disappearing and all other stuff when she was younger. She scowled lightly at Neji for his slightly raised voice and turned to Itachi:"And why didn't you say your mom you are going off on your own, dattebane?"

"Because she wanted to pull me along to buy Kimono." He stared at them both.

"There is nothing wrong with buying kimono." Neji just stares down at him before lifting his arm as if to show his own as an example. "See?"

She smiles and nods, moving to stand in front of Itachi and making a twirl, almost falling because of the shoes, but laughing all the same. "It's really warm, 'tebbane." She pats Itachi's head.

"I'm wearing one too. I wasn't gonna help mom buy -hers- and more for you, or Neji-nii or otouto or big-me. Just no."

Another time, and he might find the way Naruto spun in her kimono endearing, but -- alright, in spite of how he was scolding the younger boy, he still found her actions endearing. Returning his full attention to Itachi, he frowns. "We will get your dango and then find your mother, understand?"

She nods and grabs Itachi's hand:"Of course he does. We don't want Mikoto-san getting angry, do we dattebane?" Mikoto being angry means long, unnoticeable suffering.
She turned to Neji:"Did you see anywhere dango place?"

"You just want me to get stuck giving opinions on things that aren't even for -me-."

"Nonsense. We'll accompany you to her, then once she sees that you are in our care, we'll politely excuse ourselves to go elsewhere. Is that acceptable?"

She smiles nervously:"Ehh-- I still think your mom is scary a bit and I don't think you should anger her, dattebane." Damn, she wished she had mom. She nodded at Neji:"And she won't be angry with you."

He peered up at Naruto for a long moment, then looked over at Neji. "Uh huh."

Neji merely raises an eyebrow at him and continues walking. "Of course she won't. Uchiha-san is not frightening, only stubborn with certain things." Another glance to Itachi. "Like a certain other Uchiha I know."

She laughs and grabs Itachi's hand and turns to Neji:"So! Where's the dango place?"
