Ancestor Blossoms
With the cease of the heavy snow in the wake of the first blizzard of the season comes... the red?
It seems that the winters of Michi no Sato are utterly unique in even more ways than it first appeared as, though the temperature has plummeted, the locals seem more cheerful than ever. Those not hemmed in by the snowy paths have begun heading to the cliffs surrounding the village, either in pairs or as family groups, to pick the flowers that had blossomed in the wake of the snow.
The flowers weren't large, being barely the size of a fingertip at largest, but they sprung up over every snow covered ledge and overhang of the cliffs in a crimson haze that made it seem as though the sky had snowed blood instead of pure white in the last week.
The locals, however, saw nothing peculiar, being so very proud of the flowers and the good fortune they were said to bring on the years in which they appeared. If asked, the only name given to them were Ancestor Blossoms, and the one who asked would then be told to go pick at least one, to keep on their person or to ingest in some way, because they brought good health and would be gone within days.
