copynin: (intense)
He'd considered taking on some of the extra work that had come with the news from the visitors, but after the last two missions he'd had outside of the village, he was sick of this world's inhabitants. Instead, he'd spent time talking to the Obito that had shown up from another reality, speaking to Mikoto-san and Itachi-san over at the Uchiha house, and trying to get Kushina-nee-san to talk to both Mikoto and the Sasuke she assaulted, since it was obvious that she was sorry for it.

However, he just wanted to go train this time. He felt stupid and lazy because he'd done nothing at all but read the day before, so he was going to dedicate this entire day to training, until he collapsed, taking a page out of Naruto's book for once.

When he opened his eyes and found himself lying sprawled on the grass somewhere, his first thought was, Huh. The afterlife doesn't feel very different. Then he remembered that, technically, he shouldn't even have an afterlife, since the shinigami had eaten his soul.

His somewhat pragmatic statement as he sat up was, somewhat understandably, "Huh?" And then he got to his feet and glanced down at himself. His clothes were completely intact, his coat as pristine as ever - aside from that ramen stain on the left side that had never quite come out - and he felt...fine. His chakra pulsed comfortably under his skin, he was not achy or tired and there was no kyuubi claw protruding from his chest.

"What the hell?" He was definitely supposed to be dead and yet, conversely... He was definitely still alive. Where am I and what happened?

He finally understood why Ino-chan and Shikamaru had been so surprised to see him. He'd fucking died. It was an awesome death, for sure. One to be proud of as a strong member of Konoha, as a Sarutobi, as his father's son. But he'd left Kurenai and their unborn child alone, his nephew was now the only Sarutobi male in direct line to take over the clan and he was a twelve year old kid.

He wanted a cigarette. He patted his jacket pocket and was surprised to find it empty. The last thing he'd asked Shikamaru to do was light him one before he'd...died.

Well, sitting here and thinking it to death (poor choice of words, but whatever) wasn't going to solve anything. He needed to find his friends and teammates to see how they'd been doing in his absence. And, maybe get another hug from his students.

[OOC: Asuma's been missing from the village for the past week and now he's updated to his death. So, come at him residents of Michi no Sato. He finally gets a bunch of stuff!]

This wasn't home.

He might only be four years old, but Hyuuga Neji wasn't some stupid kid. He was a Hyuuga, and that meant he was one of the best! He just... hadn't been outside without Father before. The compound was fairly clear on what areas he was allowed in, though he wasn't sure he understood it all yet. Father had said that he wasn't allowed many places, and so he'd done as Father had said.

But... none of this looked familiar. Feet bare, he kept to the wooden walkways, wearing only his dark-blue shirt and tight-fitting pants, easy to move in. Father had just been here, and then he'd walked away. Something bad was going to happen to him. The Main Family was going to do something, and he just knew that he had to find him.
